Re: Wolves vs Cavs GDT
A few things....
- Game ball easily goes to Gorgui. Even Cam will have to admit that he's been playing great ball on BOTH ends. You mean, it's possible to play effective on offense AND defense!? Amazing!
- I think there are a few reasons why Gorgui is suddenly Hakeem on defense: 1) The trend toward playing smaller in the NBA is actually helping Gorgui because there is simply less size and power on the floor and hardly anyone posts up anymore. Gorgui's biggest problem has always been getting knocked off his base. 2) The drop coverage takes better advantage of his length than hard hedges that force him to guard out on the perimeter more. and 3) He's playing with better perimeter defenders than in the past.
- Speaking of perimeter defense, Culver is becoming one hell of a bulldog out there. As someone else mentioned, what makes him different from Okogie is that he is less of a whirling dervish and plays more in control.
- I think Garland can be really good eventually.
- RoCo is another guy that has playing at a high level since KAT went out. Napier, Dieng, and RoCo. These three vets have been absolutely key of late.
- Okogie has taken a step back. It's kind of sad to watch him out there. Now he's starting to get abused on defense too. Exum was taking him and Reid to the woodshet on PnR. The first time they tried running that when Culver and Dieng were back in the game, they stymied it.
- Once again, I thought Vonleh had a solid stint out there. He rarely gets more than spot minutes and I don't think the Wolves re-sign him, but I think he's been so solid whenever he plays.
Any win is a good win!

I would love to bring Vonleh back next year, but I don't think he will accept the role he currently has. But I just love the way he battles and walls up. Maybe he is nothing special but it is a nice change see a big do what he does even though they are small things.

Gorgui was fucking awesome and you are still a douchebag.

Totally unnecessary. Not sure why you feel the need to get profane with folks. If you don't like Cam, ignore his posts.

Agreed. With Dieng still under contract and Reid showing some potential, I don't think they invest hardly any $ in bigs.

Im just worried, because like I have mentioned in this thread and have expanded on in another thread, we are pathetic with kat on defense. I don't know if Naz will be a good defender (Still way to early but doesn't have the physical profile of one) and I don't want Gorgui to be the only defensive big we have to rely on because we all know Gorgui defensively goes up and down. (He has been great these last 10ish games)

What i like about naz is that he will wall up abd not put himself out of position on the defensive end. He kinda defends like jokic.

I agree. Just saying it's super early to tell if he can be good on that end. But decent early signs
