Rubio is statistically having his worst season of his career. I struggle to be positive about him when he makes 18 million and has been mostly terrible.

I try and be fair, but I feel that is fair. Now per game basis he has had some good games, but the bad far outweigh the good. He needs to be better.

I think FNG's assessment of Rubio's performance in this gam is spot on. Here's the part of Cam's post that caught my eye:

"His [Rubio's] horrendous first half contributed to the Wolves falling behind by 21. His third quarter helped Towns get the Wolves back into the game. And then he disappeared in the final frame as Edwards, Towns, and Russell brought the game within reach."

I guess it's fair to say Russell helped bring the team back, although I'd attribute most of that to KAT and Edwards. But as good as Russell was in the 4th, he hit only 5 of his 15 FG attempts in the game and had only one rebound in a losing effort to a seriously depleted team. DLO made a third of his FG attempts. To use Cam's word, that's horrendous, regardless of what he did in the 4th. I believe in looking beyond the stats, but when your PG shoots 5 of 15 from the field with only 1 rebound, he's a big part of the problem and doesn't deserve mention as a positive in the game any more than Rubio does. I thought acquiring Ricky was a bad idea when it happened and his play this season has only confirmed my view. But he was no more horrendous than DLO in this game. In fact, I think Ricky was better than DLO in this game as measured objectively by the stats and subjectively by the eye test. If it were up to me, neither one of them would be on this team. Neither one gives this team what it needs and both are overpaid for what they provide.
