2-minute report states Kat did not step out of bounds on Kat go ahead 3.
Refs didn't review it as they should of. Wolves got screwed again.
Kat is back vs the Pacers GDT
Re: Kat is back vs the Pacers GDT
The biggest point made is when Q talked about details. None of the wolves coaches ever seem to worry about the details, even though they are what wins games. I talked about the lack of offensive rebounding effort on missed FT's a few days ago, and last night we lost the jump ball because Wiggins wasn't smart enough to stand next to Lamb thus giving up 5 feet of real estate.
Do our coaches watch any game film and go back and try to correct these mistakes, or are they too stupid to notice? We still don't box out for defensive rebs. Shot goes up and wolves players stand and watch hoping it fails into their arms. Gorgui still doesn't know how to set a pick. He leaves his position before making contact with the defender spotting up for his 20 footer.
I am clearly alone on Gorgui when I say he didn't suddenly become a good defender. He is still planted in the paint giving away all options when defending the PnR. Jim Pete mentioned getting help from the weak side when our bigs step out, but what he doesn't realize is that you have to stop the ball handler from turning the corner. Our bigs don't do that, so they leave the open passing lane to the weak side corner, leave the floater or short mid range, and also the lob pass to the rolling big. You literally can't do any worse guarding the PnR. It would be like playing tennis standing just behind the service line.
We played horrible teams over the stretch that KAT was out. It is the only reason our defensive rating was better. KAT and G are like clones of one another on D. We need Vonleh or even bell along side KAT. I like the idea of putting Culver in with Wiggins and Cov at the other spots.
Lip, I agree that it is madness to not at least try the second big when we are pissing away another season.
Can anyone tell me why we have one of the most efficient offensive players in the game, but we refuse to run a play for him at crunch time? I would prefer a contested three from KAT over any other option we have at this point.

Is Culver quick enough to cover pgs on the defensive end?

SJM - I'm not so sure I agree with you totally on the PnR coverage. The scheme calls for drop coverage which is done precisely to prevent the lob dunk to a rolling big or easy layups by the penetrating guard. What it does give up are mid-range jumpers and floaters....which Indiana made a ton of. But our defense by design wants these shots versus layups, free throws, or 3s. I actually think the drop coverage scheme has helped us more than almost anything else this season on defense. Having said that, there are times our big needs to step up and challenge those shots, especially after the opponent has made a gazillion straight on us!
Pork - Yes, Culver can probably guard PGs, certainly more effectively than any of our other guys save for may be Okogie. But at the end of the day, we play a switching type defense, so it's very rare we see one of our players end up guarding the guy that they started on at the beginning of the shot clock.
