And of course they don't know everything but here were their comments on lavine. Lavine is now the next DeMarcus Cousins, he dosen't have a good relationship with his coach or teammates. He dosent make defensive rotations. In clutch situations this year lavine is #1 in usage and dead last in net rating in those situations.
They later named the all miserable team. They named Kat/beal/Dimwidde when Irving plays/ love. And finally lavine teammates having to watch lavine play basketball with them.
Once again these guys aren't the say all be all but just 2 more perspectives on lavine.
How can you be so critical of Lavine and want to acquire DLo? Lavine has a better RPM and DRPM than Russell. Similar negatives on both players. DLO is a ballstopper and he is clueless on defense and he has been benched near the end of some games for his poor defense by every team he has played on. I don't think Zach would be a good fit here, but I like him slightly better than DLO and his salary is cheaper.

I've always said im on the fence with Dlo. I have the same concerns with Dlo. I don't think it is a slam dunk with him. I take in to consideration him and towns are supposedly really good friends. He has lead a team to the playoffs while leading the NBA in 4th quarter scoring.
I also realize adding lavine is a massive risk and a gamble that might not turn out well. Also really don't want to give up future assets (wanted a Cov and Teague trade).
In the case of lavine I've always reject the case that everything would be perfect if lavine was still here. Feel like because the trade didn't work that people think not trading lavine we would be competing now. I reject that a lot.

Well for starters DLO is playing next to Draymond and a G League team while Zach is playing on a team stacked with lottery talent. DLO also helped lead the Nets to the playoffs whereas Zach has never led anyone to anything in the league. DLO is putting up basically the same numbers in GS as he did last year in Brooklyn so that tells you everything you need to know about how bad that roster is this year which is understandable given they have 70 million dollars sitting on the bench every night. If anything this year should solidify that DLO's play last year wasn't an anomaly because he's doing it again just with a much worse surrounding cast. He is a 20/6/4 guy with 43/36/78 splits and you know you are getting that because he's done it on good and bad teams now. I see it as less of a risk now seeing his improved play continue through this year and then you just hope putting him back around actual NBA talent again will help us take the next step as a team.
