Better odds of success at this point

A full rebuild or seeing this talent thru even tho we know our best players will force their way out to greener pastures.

Build around Ant and Kat and keep developing the complimentary pieces and I honestly think the future is bright. We have some super intriguing guys on this team. Dlo and Jauncho are not among them however. I'm excited

The problem is what can we get for DLO, or worse, what else would we have to give up to trade DLO? He's having a down year so far and the body of evidence against him as a lead guard keeps growing.

I'm afraid we are stuck with this group for the time being. All we can hope for is that other guys like Edwards keep growing and developing so that it dilutes DLO's influence on the team.

The guy that I'm just broken up about is Culver. I was really hoping he fixed his shot, but it looks as bad as ever. He's turning himself into a one-dimensional role player. Sure, there is a place for him in the league, but THIS team needed him to be way more than that. Terrible pick by Rosas in hindsight. Whoever scouted him should be fired. (and I really like Culver the person - I'd love him as a player if he had been a 2nd rounder).

Spot on, Q! I agree that we simply have to hope that enough of our young guys like Edwards, Vanderbilt, Reid, Culver and Okogie keep developing to dilute DLO's importance to the team.

Unfortunately, like you, I don't see the shot development from Culver we were hoping for. I've been watching closely and it looks to me like his shooting mechanics are still messed up. He's still taking one-handed free-throws that remind me of some of the worst free-throw shooting bigs we've seen over the years. It's disappointing, but as you know I hated the pick at the time in large part because his shooting mechanics were so broken coming out of college and he wasn't particularly elite in any other phase of the game. So yes, it was a terrible pick but not simply based on hindsight.

I might be the only one on this board who still thinks Okogie has a lot of untapped upside. His consistently good free-throw shooting in college and the NBA, combined with his 38% three-point shooting in college, give me hope that he can at least become a good perimeter shooter. His offensive decision making has improved and he does an excellent job keeping the ball moving on the offensive end. And his defense has good from good to great in my view as he gambles a little less while continuing to terrorized opposing player he guards.

I wouldn't underestimate Naz Reid's potential. He always a five-star recruit coming out of high school who seemed to lose his way when he got to college and ended up with one of the highest body fat percentages in his draft class. But he seems totally rededicated and engaged now. And he's clearly whipped his body into shape, looking quicker and more athletic this season than last. He plays with a high motor and looks like he has a high basketball IQ.

JMac and Nowell are under-appreciated and underutilized in my view. I fear they will both move on and succeed elsewhere.

Edwards and Vanderbilt are our most intriguing prospects in my view. Edwards has the talent to be a star. I thought that was true when we drafted him, but I had grave doubts about him even achieving his potential. But after watching him so far this season, I feel much better about his prospects. He's shown a competitiveness I wasn't sure he had. And he's also demonstrated a high basketball IQ and playmaking potential. I had doubts about your guy, Vanderbilt, but he's all but vanquished those doubts though his recent play. I knew he had a great motor and had great potential as a rebounder, but he looks like a lot more potentially than a high-energy rebounder. I think he has a pretty high basketball IQ. And he looks like a better passer than I imagined with the ability to become a good all-around player.

Right! Great kid, like having him on the team but he's not what we needed there. You just can't draft non shooters... especially when you already have non shooters (okogie) and your system is based on having good three point shooters... and then you top it off by trading for another non shooter (Rubio). Having all these non shooters makes it harder to have vando out there, but I think he still needs to be out there.

This rebuild didn't work so yeah, lets get started on the next rebuild that won't work.

Honestly, other than one single season where they made the conference finals this team has been in build mode since conception. I'm not sure this team has ever been good enough, long enough to suggest we're rebuilding rather than still building.
