This was one of the best basketball discussions I've heard in a while. I think it has some cool insights that are relevant to the Wolves as our star is a big man. I'll give the opportunity for others to Chime in if they've listened but I'm fully behind Goldsberry's ideas for tweaking some of the league rules.

Good stuff. Definitely aligned to Abe's perspectives on how the rules of the game have become so tilted against the post player. What I like is that the very analytics that created the 3-pt revolution can be used to create more offensive diversity again.

Yeah. The basic idea that the rules could flip back to pro big makes a lot of sense. Plus it would favor the Wolves outlook.

Dug the podcast, too. Usually dig Lowe though. Good to learn more about Goldsberry. I had sort of lumped him in with the overly analytical rubes/nerds.

Some of his ideas are better than others. But they all come a place of sound reasoning.

The easiest, least intrusive would seem to be to go back to a narrower lane. Bigs can get closer. Doubles would be harder. And it would make more sense to post up a guy like KAT or Davis than it does to have Kiata Bates-Diop or Thad Young shoot more three pointers.

Right now, (statistically) it still makes more sense to have average players shoot three pointers than have the most talented centers post up.
