Wolves win again

Post by kekgeek »

Gorgui is a stud.

Kat was pathetic

Tyus and KBD were great.

Wiggins solid.

Nice win!

What do you mean Kat had a triple double. Took 11 turnovers to do it but still a triple double.

Where were KATs teammates when he took that hard foul from Winslow? Not cool.

Does it matter at this point? They gotta pick the best player they can where they are picking. If we're gonna lament not getting someone because they were a couple of picks ahead, you're resigned to the idea that they're gonna pick some crappy (which they could do with a higher pick anyway).

Okogie was pretty good too with 5 steals and defending that last shot by Wade. KAT was the only Wolves player who didn't play well, but he still had 13 rebounds.

Nice effort and good win. As much as I want to maximize our lottery position it's nice to see these young guys compete and get rewarded with another win. They were up against a Miami team fighting to make the playoffs and still pulled out a win. They seem to be responding to Ryan.

The good news on the lottery front is that Charlotte and Orlando won tonight also. So it looks like we'll finish ahead of the Lakers, but i suspect Charlotte will remain ahead of us and there's no way we'll catch the Magic, Heat or Kings. We will probably end up 11th in the lottery and no worse than 12th. We were never going to climb to 9 or better.

Yep forgot okogie.

Nice to see a quality win against a good opponent when KAT plays bad. Really huge the effort gorgui has brought.

Yes, Gorgui was terrific. He's my player of the game. He's put together a string of terrific games so I think we're seeing the real Gorgui - the same Gorgui we saw before Thibodeau's arrival but better. He seems to have lost a little weight, which has made him quicker, and more importantly he's playing with confidence. He'll be a nice piece for us next season.

We should mention Saric, who had 19 efficient points last night. I'd still like to have a rim-protecting big in our rotation, but that's not essential if Saric and Gorgui can continue to play the way they've been playing recently.

I continue to maintain that Tyus can be a very solid starting PG. Yes, I'd love to have a Kemba Walker as our starting PG with Tyus as his backup. But unless we pull off an improbable trade or draft Ja Morant, I don't see us acquiring the quality PG who would necessarily be better than Tyus in the starting role. The most likely scenario has Teague as our starting PG next season. I suspect the Wolves will re-sign Derrick Rose. The question is whether the Wolves will re-sign Tyus. The answer to that question turns on how much other teams are willing to offer him as a restricted free agent.

A couple meaningless games in April don't make Gorgui Dieng a useful player, sorry to say.

Oh come on Cam. It's more than a couple games. And the games haven't been meaningless for the Wolves' opponents, which makes the productive, high-effort performances of Gorgui and some other Wolves' players even more impressive. Further, Gorgui was a decent player as a starter alongside KAT before Thibodeau arrived, so it's not just this last stretch of games I'm using to assess him. There's not reason Gorgui can't be, as you put it, a "useful" player. In the last 6 games he's been more than useful.
