Lip I think One thing the teams like the Spurs or OKC do well is they may not always go for the top talent but they are looking for guys that they think they can mold or fit into the system/players they have. Q brings up that selecting players outside of the top picks those guys don't exactly have the we gotta play these guys right away thing. Once you get to that spot it's a different sort of draft than the lottery. The Spurs can pick their guy for one reason or another. If they do go with a talent or bust pick like Murray then is that guy really going to question the Spurs way? If you were a young prospect would you be interested going against a team like OKC? Probably not.
Meanwhile the Wolves organization is more one people joke about not respect somewhat like the Kings. The Wolves continuity of front office and or head coaches is often measured in months not years. It takes time. Most of the good organizations have someone that's been around quite a while or at least more than 4 years which this woeful organization hasn't had since Flip and McHale were around.
I'm not suggesting this franchise starts picking players only for fit in a system or with Towns but IF we actually had a culture around the franchise it may actually be more clear the player you want to select and that's a good thing. Lonnie Walker doesn't exactly seem like a Spurs guy at first blush. It seems more like he was a talent pick to me. But again having that all set can making a pick easier.

How about a guy like Mfiondu Kabengele from FSU. Seems to check all the boxes. He seemed to be a leader for that team despite coming off bench. And they were smothering defensively at times. I didn't see them more than a couple games, but guessing he played a major part. Watched some video. Seems like a sleeper.
Additionally, watching highlights of Okeke from Auburn....looks to be a great prospect. Seems he has the "do shit" stats in blocks and steals that transfer well. And he is a great athlete (as long as he comes back from ACL injury) that can shoot. He won't be able to suit up day 1, but may be worth the risk longer term.
