Last week I read an article I think it was on The Athletic about the draft that mentioned he was a guy that's has been doing well.

Tyler has made his way onto my radar as well.

Still a long way to go in terms of evaluating talent and projecting draft picks, but as of 20 March 2019, these are the simplistic categories I've sorted players into. These are the guys assessed to be declaring for the draft and thought to be available where the Wolves will likely be drafting. You won't see me talk too much about Zion Williamson or R.J. Barrett because it's likely they're the first two players off the board (right or wrong). From there, it's a lot less clear.

Love:
- Darius Garland, PG, Vanderbilt
- Tyler Herro, SG, Kentucky
- DeAndre Hunter, SF, Virginia
- Keldon Johnson, SG/SF, Kentucky
- Jarrett Culver, SG, Texas Tech

Like:
- Jaxson Hayes, PF/C, Texas
- Coby White, PG/SG, North Carolina
- Nickeil Alexander-Walker, SG, VT
- Sam Hauser, SF, Marquette
- Daniel Gafford, PF/C, Arkansas
- Darius Bazley, SF, Princeton High School
- Naz Reid, PF/C, LSU

Dislike:
- Rui Hachimura, SF/PF, Gonzaga
- Kezie Okpala, SF, Stanford
- Romeo Langford, SG, Indiana
- P.J. Washington, PF, Kentucky
- Grant Williams, PF, Tennessee

Hate:
- Nassir Little, SF, North Carolina
- Cam Reddish, SF, Duke
- Kevin Porter Jr., SG, USC
- Sekou Doumbouya, SF, France
- Jalen Smith, PF, Maryland
- Admiral Schofield, SF, Tennessee

Cam - I always love your draft analysis. Honestly, it's one of the things I look forward to on this Board every spring. As usual, you and I are pretty much in sync right now. I'd quibble slightly with a few of your category placements. For example, I'd bump Culver, Herro and Hunter down to the Like category and bump up Nickeil to the Love catergory. I'd also move Little up from Hate to Dislike because I like his motor. I'd move Okpala to the top of the Like category and might put him into my Love category. I know nothing about some of the guys on your list, like Bazley.

I'd like to know a little more about your thinking on Okpala, Culver, Herro and Hunter. I'm especially curious about why you're so down on Okpala. I'm also intersted in your take on Nickeil - a guy I really love. Thanks.

I don't know if Nickeil is related to SGA of the clippers (doubt it), but I've seen multiple sites compare them. If we could get another SGA at our pick, I think that would be ideal... so I'd have Nickeil in my Love category. Very interesting on Herro. I'll have to watch him closer now in the tournament. My prediction is that Coby White will be the star of the tournament this year and lead NC past Duke or Michigan in the final. Whether he's the right guy at our pick would probably still depend on who else is there.

It was only one game and Marial Shayok actually kinda didn't finish that game well but he looked intriguing for Iowa State. Obviously not looking at him with our first round pick (he is older etc) but maybe a 2nd or even Undrafted? Looks longer than 6'6" to me. Maybe he is one of those guys that is better as a high Usaage guy but he played a role his previous years for Tony Bennett. Anyone else have some thoughts on him? I just thought his combination of length, skill and shooting was interesting.

How much money is Tyus' little brother looking at losing out on over the next week?

If other teams copy UCF's strategy and dare him to shoot... and he can't make that shot... oh oh.

And as wonderful as he is, how patient is Coach K going to be if Tre Jones returns to school... along with the next crop of ballyhooed freshmen, possibly even a PG who can shoot? (Boogie Ellis?)

It was pretty brutal. It may have been even worse than what teams ever did to Rubio...of course Duke has a lot of talent otherwise so... But yeah. On the other hand the guy is a heck of a defender at this level. Sure he gets switched onto bigger players that will be a problem even though I think he is a little taller than Tyus. At some point in the draft if he does stay in a team likely picks him because they figure they can get another Tyus Jones with a bit more size and maybe a better player. Sure. It will be interesting to see how far that team goes. There was like 3 ways they could have maybe should have lost that game against UCF. Did you see Coach K's comment after that game? If those talented guys can't get going after that scare...

I watched the game but didn't see Coach K's post-game comment. I've watched a lot of Duke this season, including their two tournament games and their conference tournament games. Here are my take-always, which were really evidence against UCF:

1. Zion is the absolute best player in college basketball and barring injury he'll be an NBA superstar.

2. Tre Jones isn't as good as his older brother. I remember watching Tyus in college. He was every bit the defender Tre is but a better shooter and playmaker.

3. Barrett and Reddish should have yellow flags planted squarely next to their names on ever NBA team's draft board. Duke's near loss to UCF and failure to truly dominate all season in spite of Zion's presence says a lot about Barrett and Reddish. If nothing else, it tells me they both have a long way to go before I'd bank on them becoming NBA allstars much less stars. I have more confidence in Barrett than Reddish, but I'm not particularly impressed by either one. I'd definitely take Ja Morant ahead of Barrett. I'm wondering if I'd take Barrett at #3. As for Reddish, I'd have a red flag next to his name on my draft board - which means don't take.

I'm not advocating for Reddish but the one thing that stood out to me watching that game was physically he is very put together. That's gonna make some team take him in the lottery and based on what a number of people have said on this board about him...hopefully he is taken before our pick so we don't take him AND it pushes another guy down to our spot.
