Yeah he's listed at 6'4" but his wingspan is 6'4". He's light but reminds me a bit of D'Aaron Fox. I like that he's fast, has a nice handle, and can shoot. All things our wings seem to lack.

Does he push the ball? I want a guard that pushes the ball up the floor. He doesn't have to be Fox level of that but I think that type of thing would be big both for pace and even 3 point shooting.

Yes, that whole team pushes the ball, as NC is known for their running game.

Not sure why everyone wants us to push the ball. With Towns, it makes sense to slow things down and develop a more grind it out type of game. We don't have the wings for the faster pace game.

Not entertaining. Watching Memphis is painful.

We have maybe the most diverse scoring big of all time and we have to play slow? That's silly. There is no reason we can't play fast AND post Towns up. We don't have to play just one way. We need perimeter player to make things happen. We have wings that can play fast...except Wiggins who slows things down if he has the ball which gets pretty old. I don't care about aesthetics I want easy buckets and Towns getting easy trail 3's sounds pretty good to me.

I want to win. What do you think of Coby? I think he's a winner, like his aggression and would be a great counter to KAT.

First of all, implying that I am saying we can only play one way "IS SILLY". Second, who are the wings you are speaking about?

I would prefer we don't force KAT into sprinting up and down the court all game. Why not limit the possessions so KAT takes up a higher percentage of them. This limits our bad offensive trips, and limits the other team from destroying our defense.

I should clarify I tend to use "silly" instead of other words but in retrospect may have come off wrong in my post. Regardless you are right I was wrong to say that how I did. So you do agree we can play a combo of taking opportunities to get out for easy baskets and utilize Towns in the half court?

Okogie certainly seems to be a guy that can play fast. Covington isn't exactly a grab a rebound and drive the length of the floor but he is a spot up shooter and a guy that can create translation opportunities with his defense. KBD runs the floor and looks to have enough handle to both get to the basket and make some plays in transition. In addition Saric is a guy that can grab and go as a big.

You are right we probably shouldn't have Towns blowing up and down the court which again I mentioned trail 3's. Getting the ball up the court and scoring easily is a nice way to not have to grind things out and can help. I just think having a guy that can handle the ball and get downhill and make some plays in transition would be quite nice. We already see it to some extent with Rose this season (I tend to think he comes back next year). I agree getting into a track meet probably isn't wise but it also gets old seeing Wiggins get the ball and basically walk dribble the ball up the floor when there is a chance of getting the ball up and maybe getting an easy shot or a drive to get someone an open 3. That's often how the Wolves get killed the last few years is transition especially from 3. It would be nice to actually get some easy buckets that way ourselves.

And I assume we both agree that a ball handling guard that can make plays in half court would be good too. We need a young perimeter player team that forces the issue...in mostly a good way. :)

Zion Williamson is going to be an absolute monster in the NBA. I can't believe how quick and explosive a guy that size is. Imagine Julius Randle with 2X the speed, quickness, and hops.

* and he's easily 40 pounds heavier than Randle.

Monster - I agree with you completely that the Wolves should play more transition basketball with a guard bringing the ball up fast and Towns among others running the floor. One of my main beefs all season has been the failure of Thibodeau (and now Ryan but less so) to take full advantage of KAT's broad, versatile skill set. Our offense typically focuses on posting KAT up in the half-court and occasionally spotting him up for threes. I've been saying all season that he needs to get the ball much earlier in half-court possessions with the opportunity to make plays for himself and others. He's a terrific perimeter shooter from anywhere, a good ballhandler and very good passer. Heck, he won the NBA skills competition as a freshman. The half-court offense needs to run through him far more. And yes, we need to see more transition buckets with Towns in the mix.

What we need is this:

1. A better head coach who uses KAT's full skill set, increases the pace of play and emphasizes ball-movement.

2. A PG who facilitates ball movement and makes his teammates better.
