Free Agent Salaries

Post by TeamRicky [enjin:6648771] »

I wanted to make some guesses where the upcoming crop of free agents will get paid.
First, I wanted to look back at the 2015 free agency crop and categorize them into 5 groups: A) $20M and up; B) $15M to $20M; C) $10M to $15M; D) $5M to $10M and E) Below $5M

Looking at last year we had:

Group A: Lebron, Marc Gasol, Aldridge, Love and Brook Lopez
Group B: Draymond Green*, Jimmy Butler*, Kawhi Leonard*, Dragic, Greg Monroe, Milsap, Wes Matthews, Reggie Jackson, Tobias Harris, Kanter
Group C: Middleton*, D. Carroll, Thad Young, Monta Ellis, Tyson Chanlder, Shumpert, Asik, Amir Johnson, Rondo
Group D: Crowder*, Aminu*, Biyombo*, Ed Davis*, JR Smith*, Lou Williams, Corey Joseph, Jerebko, Koufos, Afflalo, Beverly, Brandon Wright, Brewer, Teletovic, Singler, KG, Rivers
Group E: David West*, Barea, Cole Aldrich, Jeremy Lin, Wes Johnson, Casspi, Pierce, Dunleavey, Mo Williams, Barea, Josh Smith, Norris Cole, Prince, Miller, Terry, Ellington, Ajinca, Scola, Lavoy Allen, Alan Anderson

* Represents great value

Let me know if I left off any unrestricted free agents among NBA rotation players or if you think I miss-slotted anyone in a major way. What players do you think represent the best values given where I slotted them?

I have an opt out this year in a few weeks. Do you think I should explore the market?

If you are in tier A or B, I'll volunteer to be your agent for a 3% cut. But if you are in the Bolivian bottom division, I will hook you up with my Uncle Ernesto.

My wife is a brutal negotiator so I've got that part covered.

But TeamRicky is offering his services for a fee of 3%. My understanding is that your wife's contract allows for a 50% cut. You really should consider TeamRicky's offer.

Based on Basketball-Reference Biyombo's contract was 3 millions per year that makes it even better deal. I'm pretty sure that someone will pay him this summer starting center money based on his performance while Valenciunas has been out.

The good news is that I get a 50% cut of my wife's deals (it's a pretty sweet lifetime deal we have) and she has always been at least a tier above me on the market so yeah I've got it pretty good.
