Ben Simmons is the only one who was invited that is skipping so far. Other than Qi, the international prospects won't be there including Dragan Bender, Timothe Luwawu, Furkan Korkmaz, Guerschon Yuschele, Isaia Cordinier, Ante Zizic, Jonathan Jeanne, Ivica Zubac, Juan Hernangomez, George de Paula, Petr Cornelie, and Aleksandar Vezenkov

Three players have announced that they have already worked out or will soon work out with the Wolves: Vince Edwards from Purdue, Abdul Malik Abu from NC State and Trevor Bluiett from Xavier. None of the three are combine invitees.

I don't think that's true. I'm pretty sure Domontas Sabonis passed on the opportunity too. Smart moves by both of them.

Yep and DX said via Twitter there was another lower 1st rounder type that passed also not that it makes much difference.

Good thread to start. It's always interesting to see how these guys...measure up. Lol

https://dunkingwithwolves.com/2016/05/09/timberwolves-notes-awards-and-scouting-combine/Timberwolves Notes: Awards and Scouting Combine

It's officially combine week for the Timberwolves as the top brass have descended upon Chicago for pre-draft camp, interviews, and more.

The combine itself gets rolling on Wednesday, May 11th and runs through Sunday the 15th. Many of the top prospects are there -- 70, in fact -- with the most notable players withheld from the released list being potential top selection Ben Simmons of LSU and likely lottery pick Domantas Sabonis of Gonzaga.

****

And while it no doubt changes from team to team, the combine is a slight piece of the overall body of work. If an entire college career or season overseas counts for 60 to 70 percent of the equation, than pre-draft interviews and conversations with college coaches and acquaintances are probably worth 20-30 percent or so, and the combine would make up the final 10 percent.

At any rate, the Timberwolves' brain trust is on the ground and hard at work, according to Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500 and KSTP.

Layden already in Chicago. He helps organize pre-draft camp. Early entry rule change makes it more challenging. No Kander there. #twolves

Thibs, Layden, Hervey among #Twolves personnel spotted at today's D-League Showcase in Chicago. FWIW, no Newton, Babcock, and Booth.

One other pre-combine note: ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports that Jalen Moore of Utah State has a workout scheduled with the Wolves, as well as the Grizzlies and the Nets later this month. Who knows if this was the previous regime or the Layden-Thibodeau front office, but the date is apparently the 18th.

As of right now, DraftExpress has the six-foot-eight forward listed as the #63 prospect in the draft, meaning that he likely would not be drafted at all. Of course, a lot can change between now and late June.

Maker seems like the real wildcard this draft. Very intriguing. I'm sure he gets drafted higher than he deserves but how high is the real question.
