Who should we take with our top three pick next year?
Figured i would do the yearly honors since obviously this is the same god damn team we have watched forever.
So do we go for porter, bagley, ayton?
Also now who do we deal? We dealt rubio our supposed problem last year. Maybe trade wighins for a player of similar ilk. Maybe a nick young? Towns for a guy of similar talents, maybe enes kanter. I so god damn pissed at this team. Fucking tired of these sorry ass gutless fucking turds. Maybe we can get rubio back since at least he gave a fuck.

Just sell the pick, don't ruin some kids draft night.

Heh, I'm not quite at there yet. I still think we're a fringe playoff team based off sheer talent alone. But this team is a long ways from being a real factor in the West that's for sure. So anyone that took the Vegas Over (which I think was something like 46.5) is probably in trouble at this point. 38-43 wins seems about right.

My problem is that if Wiggins and KAT are only good playing in Butler's wake then they aren't good enough and they will be exposed come playoff time. They're 3rd and 4th year players who look as lost as most rookies on the defensive end.

If KAT keeps this up I would seriously offer NO KAT for AD this offseason. Both teams could start fresh with All-Star talents. They could trade Cousins for a bunch of picks and assets and start over building around KAT.

KAT is not netting AD by himself at this juncture. One plays both ends of the floor very well, the other ... Not so much.

One stays on the floor. The other...

I still think he would. NO would get a young stud they can control for another 5+ years. AD can and will probably just leave when his deal is up. They aren't going anywhere with Holiday and Cousins as his supporting cast.

But AD can't stay on the court. I've always considered AD a better talent than KAT. But honestly, KAT's not the main problem and I don't think a KAT/AD swap would significantly move the needle for the Wolves.
Too many people who really know basketball consider KAT a budding star. He's consistently very good on the offensive end and on the boards. His defense sucks. But does anyone think he'd suck defensively if playing for Pop? I don't. Which leads me to my main point. This team is playing horribly right now -- emphasis on team. Every player on this team, except maybe Bazz, Belly and surprisingly Crawford is playing putrid defense. Note also that Bazz, Belly and Crawford aren't exactly playing good defense. The team's not scoring either. So far this season, there has been no flow and almost no movement offensively. But we saw that same thing all last season, although last season's ball movement was better than what we've seen from the Butlerless Wolves. The Wolves are routinely getting beat to loose balls. But we saw that last season too. There's a huge highly visible hustle/intensity/energy gap between the Wolves and their opponents. That was also all too common last season, only it's worse now with Teague rather than Ricky playing the point. We're not defending and other than KAT no one is consistently putting up big scoring numbers or rebounding.
If Butler can stay well and on the court the rest of the season, this team might end up in the playoffs with an 8th or 7th seed. If it's one of those typical seasons where Butler only plays around 65 games, then I can see us in the lottery again. But here's the good news. If we end up in the lottery, we get to keep our own 1st round pick, which means we'd have two first round picks in 2018.
Here's the scenario triggered by another lottery finish. Thibs is fired and replaced as PBO who actually has a track record of front office success by a new head coach who is up to coaching in the modern NBA and able to connect with players. We draft a top talent in the lottery and a Kuzma type with the OKC ticket.

You guys are too infatuated with the home talent. AD makes this team much much better...
Lip - KAT with Pop, really?
