You guys think its a safe bet to take the wolves at +1 1/2? I mean kawhi out and parker. We have to have this in the bag right?

No way. Road wins are tough in the NBA. They are a veteran team that is deep and well coached. I'm not saying we don't have a chance, but I would never bet against the Spurs.

Also, Mills has probably been the superior PG to Parker over the past couple seasons. I don't think having Parker out is that big of a deal.

I looked at it and am going to pass. Too much bad history in that building. And I've seen the Spurs reserves play above their heads to many times.

Personally (I don't bet) I am not sure bet this early in any season because various teams play better struggle than what they are.

Had a feeling my excitement over the season was clouding my judgement. Thanks for setting me straight

Another factor was only playing 3 preseason games and traveling to China. Lack of cohesion seemed to show up plenty last night.

That's my big takeaway from last night, albeit perhaps an overly optimistic one. The combination of so many new players in the rotation plus a very short preseason was a prescription for disaster...especially against a Spurs team that plays as cohesively as any team in the league. I don't even put this on Thibs...I am going to give this team a break for about 10 games until they get used to playing with each other. Then I think we will see how good one of the most talented rosters in the league can be.

Crazysauce...that's why everyone here talked you out of your bet. The Spurs cohesiveness advantage over us far exceeded the loss of Leonard.

I think those are fair points. It was frustrating to see KAT and Dieng both get fooled off their feet on pump fakes. When the eff are these guys ever going to learn to just use their length and positioning and stay the hell down!!??? Thibs needs a big man defensive coach. Or if he's got one, he should be fired. So tired of seeing these guys' lack of discipline and strong positioning. Coincidentally, both have weak bases. "Trunk strength" is an underestimated asset for big men when it comes to playing defense.

You must have also been encouraged by Thibs' minutes distribution.....
