They shouldnt have been as bad as they were last year and i have seen nothing to suggest thibs has made anyone better.

I've always been of the belief that nobody is buying into Thibs because nobody is buying into defense. When teams are scoring 120 with ease now, a coach yelling about defense for 48 minutes is gonna make him look like a weirdo and nobody's gonna listen to Thibs.

On top of that, Wiggins just got $148 mil by being an absolute sieve on defense, yet everyone blows smoke up his ass and Towns is gonna get the same deal doing the same thing. Why change the approach?

2 days ago wiggins took the next step. Now he is a bum. Understand it is a message board but overeating all over the place

I didn't say he took the next step. He had a great game the other night, but he's a tease. I still haven't bought into Wiggins until he can have games like he did on Sunday on a consistent basis. Had he been doing that, we woulda never needed Butler.

Unverified tweet:
The Pacers shot 77% in the 2nd half (30/39 FG). Of that, their starters were 87% (19/22 FG)

Wow! Just Wow! Everyone was a stinker tonight. If I had to pick one player that played better than a stinker, it would be Belly.

Oh, and I never was interested in re-signing Bazz. I guess it was okay when he signed for the minimum and we were looking to add depth. But I wondered if he might find himself as the odd man out when Thibs trims down to a 9-man rotation.

What a disaster. I'm not sure a team can possibly go from offering so much hope to so much despair in only two games! Indiana shot a blistering 67% for the game. That is almost unheard of for a whole game!

As someone else mentioned, it is truly amazing that a Thibs-coached team can be this poor on defense. By the way, we were ranked 22nd on defense PRIOR to tonight's game! The difference in those other games is that the pace wasn't as quick, so there weren't as many possessions. So we really haven't been that good on defense this year, period.

I used to think that GMs build offenses and coaches build defenses. In this case, Thibs the coach has either failed or my theory is broken and we simply don't have guys capable of playing defense no matter how hard they try and how well coached they are. I honestly don't know the answer here.

Still a long season, but that was a real punch in the gut.

Theres a reason this team should be anything but taking any win for granted. Playing like this is a recipe for yet another shitty year and i am god damn tired of it. Hell if i am butler and see this shit i am on the first plane out of here when my contract is up. These coddled jerks have no excuse, NONE, to not bring effort. What are they tired after playing god forbid there fourth game of the damn season. Someone else mentioned it. These spoiled ass kids get accolades for playing like shit so why play any other way. Im pissed after tonight so will post later when have a clearer head.

What else can you do but laugh? There appears to be nothing short of relocation that can shake them out of their sad existence.

I fear you might be right SP.

If that is a case we might have to start a givealittle fund to pay for Lip to relocate and provide us with our game reports (although i don't blame you Lip for skipping writing one tonight)!

I just finished watching this game. Here are my thoughts before I read the game thread.

The Pacers were absolutely on fire. Did the Wolves defense help them out? Sure but Joseph was nailing 3's guys literally couldn't miss and the Wolves were missing bunnies. Overall it was the Pacers night and it was not the Wolves night.

Bazz isn't Butler but I thought he played well enough. He had some good defensive rotations and hustle plays. It wasn't his fault they lost.

Belly was pretty good.

Towns sucks at defense. Transition defense was a problem again and one time it was very much on Towns not getting back. I honestly wondered looking at a seemingly calm Thins if I was more angry watching his game than he was lol.

Wiggins getting foul trouble hurt.

Crawford had plenty of good moments. He got a little out of control near the end of the game but honestly he was one of the reasons they didn't lose by like 40.

Not much else to say unless you want me to break down all the future HOFers on the Pacers. Lol

Teague contributed tonight besides scoring. In 26 minutes he had 7 assists and 2 steals. He broke up a few plays nearly by himself defensively. And for anyone asking for him to rebound more notice who is back on nearly every translation play on defense...it's Teague.

Towns had 7 rebounds. 7 and he is the biggest most athletic big on the floor he is supposed to be the best player but I honestly think he is part of the problem of this team's "culture". He doesn't hustle all the time is clueless defensively and so think he gets caught up in the hype. The good news? He is a 3rd year guy that's super talented putting up some serious numbers and he hasn't figured it out yet. It's incredibly frustrating though we want to see...and expect more. Deep breaths...

Towns offense was insane in the 3rd though. Then they went away from him and it unraveled. There was not point in letting anyone else in on the offense at that point. I thought Towns was going to get 50. His D was shit, but I dont see much merit in singling anyone out tonight. Let down games are part of the process. We're still sporting our best win percentage in ages. Hahah. Most of us have said to give it 10-15 games to settle in. I'm still on board to do that.
