Nate Robinson says the NBA caused his mental health issues, and specifically cited Thibs and Larry Brown. Hard to understand why he would have had a problem with thibs.

I'm guessing we will get a bunch of "oh, it's just nate robinson" posts. But I can just see the free agents lining up to beg to come play for thibs.

Eh, I'd read that article again if you think Thibs shared anymore spotlight than any other coach. "He's suited up for New York, Chicago, Boston, Denver, Golden State, Oklahoma City, New Orleans and the Los Angeles Clippers, and memories of coaches telling him to tone himself down all blur into one."

Thibs arguably got the best out of Nate Robinson on his way out of the league.

"Robinson fantasized about retiring in Chicago, but he says tensions with coach Tom Thibodeau escalated privately, as Robinson's focus and maturity were once again issues."

You're not going to get leeway as a 8th, 9th, 10th man. Brown was awful, D'antoni benched him, Gentry didn't think he took the game serious, and sounds like Thibs didn't either. It's sad it led to depression, but I don't know what coaches are suppose to do if coach after coach believe he's not taking things seriously.

LST it would have been easier if the article was linked =) instead of that youtube video of Thibs just saying the same things he says for every interview. He isn't disrespecting Nate in that clip.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2781257-nate-robinson-battles-inner-demons-in-quest-for-nba-return

This lengthy article goes on and on and on and on and on and on with quote and antidotes of Nate doing stuff that's immature or annoying or whatever you want to call it but you focused on Thibs? Ok

Nothing is more reliable than a self-diagnosis from someone with mental health issues.

We brought in Thibs and now were not happy because the guy wants to win so much that he overplays his best players? Because not enough 3's are shot? Do we have the best personnel to be jacking up 3's?

Thibs is hard nosed and that ran old ass Jamal Crawford out of town and yes could potentially detract free agents from playing here. I think Crawford played a low in minutes because his defense was weak and unless hot he was useless. As far as free agents dodging the Wolves it has more to do with location and free agent view point on us being actual contenders against GSW than Thibs. You know who else is a hard nosed coach? Gregg Popovich! I like winning Thibs has done that consistently and Butler loves the man, Taj came to play for him, Rose (weather you like him or not) probably plays on a vet min because he likes him and didn't Rose look better in MN than CLEV? Kinda like Thibs get's the most out of him.

Things that won't happen: Trading of Butler, Gibson or Teague. These are veterans that Thibs brought in because he thought they can help establish a winning culture. Don't waste time on thinking about how to move these players unless Thibs gets fired.

Things that might happen: Ridding of Dieng's salary, a Wiggins trade after Butler's comment (This is Thibs main guy), trading KAT as it seems he wants to play elsewhere and for him it seems preferably with D. Booker in PHX . KAT seems upset Thibs came in and moved his buddy LaVine in the deal for Butler, which has to be hard as KAT probably viewed himself as the leader and now with Butler here is he?

Thibs is our best chance at extending Butler and Jimmy is our best shot at continued playoff runs. I hope Thibs does improve and grow as a coach, his usage of players last year where starters played minutes when the game was already over, almost as punishment should stop. Less yelling at ref's as that mess is contagious and bugs the hell out of me. I'd also like to see him improve as part GM, he waited a whole year to get Butler and other teams had that year to try and make a better deal. As a GM both Aldrich and Dieng were bad contracts. J. Crawford was a poor deal but I can't knock it too much as he was trying to bring in leadership and scoring. Trading Rubio was a poor decision but can't blame that to much either as he had not stayed healthy for most of his time in MN, we also netted a 1st and he likely knew he could add Teague. The jury is still out on Thibs in my opinion, I see the good and the bad but lets just chill and be happy to have a playoff bound team and possible contender after so many down years.

Well, does anyone really need to believe that Thibs was the source of Robinson's mental health issues to conclude that Thibodeau isn't somone you'd want as your boss? Does anyone really believe that Thibodeau is a net plus attracting free agents? Watching and listening to his constant bellowing from the bench and feeling the oppressive negativity that emanates from him is enough for me to know I wouldn't want to work of play for him. Add in his reputation for not using his bench, and guess what -- the Wolves will be well down the list of nearly every free agent.

Our Commander in Chief said last year that he could shoot somebody in the middle of 5th avenue and not lose any voters. I wonder what Thibs could do and not lose the support of his base here :)! My god, a popular player in the NBA who has played for a dozen coaches specifically mentions Larry Brown (a well-known dick) and Thibs as the reasons for his depression and mental health issues, and several here don't see this as an issue for the Wolves. (Monster-I didn't think I had to link the article...it's right on the front page for ESPN). This is the impact he has on his players...not all of them, but some. And that is not what I want for my team, or what is going to lead to success for this franchise. I linked the video of Thibs' rolling his eyes when the sideline reporter asked him if he noticed Robinson vomiting on the bench, because it is so indicative of what those of us who actually go to games and watch Thibs see every night. Glen sees it every night too, and also is privy to behind the scenes issues that the season ticket holders don't see. But still he elected not to remove Thibs at the end of the season...very disappointing. The Thibs situation feels a lot like it did in Chicago...unhappy fan base and clashes with the management team despite a positive win/loss record, and it took the Bulls a while to make the move too. I think it is better than even money the Thibs is gone by mid-season, and that will be disruptive and likely lead to a lost season. How much better off this franchise would have been if Glen had done the right thing in early May.

And with all that thibs in one offseason signed arguably the best 2 wolves free agents in history in Taj Gibson and Jeff Teague

Money talks and players are not taking discounts to play for Thibs. Amazingly Taj played up to his contract with arguably his best season ever but Teague didn't in my opinion. Teague is a bit overpaid.

I think Teague is a solid PG, but he is a poor fit for the roster we have. None of our three perimeter guys are pure shooters, so they all tend to want to occupy the same space from about 20-feet in. Hell, if Wiggins were a deadeye 3-point shooter, I could care less if he ever dove for a loose ball again.

Well your mind is made up on Thibs (honestly feels like you have a blind hate for the guy) and there is no reason for me to engage in this topic for me anymore.
