Another game where Covington was an afterthought. We know he's streaky, but against tougher opponents we will need him to be much better.
I agree, Cam. The way Wiggins is playing this season, it looks like we have our dynamic duo. But as important as Wiggins and Towns were to the win tonight, you're right about the important contributions from Okogie and KBD. And yes, KDB has earned a permanent slot as a rotation player with the Minnesota Wolves.
I also agree with you about Covington. I do think he'll get better as the season goes on. I like his toughness, his defense, his attitude and his contract. But he's a guy I'd consider moving if the right deal came along. If this team is going to improve for the long haul via trade, then Teague and Covington are the assets we have to potentially make something happen. However, I'm not convinced we need to make a trade to build a contender around KAT if Wiggins continues to play the way he's been playing. There is lots of room for development of our young guys like Okogie, KBD, Culver, Nowell, Layman, Martin and Reid. Okogie and KBD have already shown marked improvement with upward trajectories to go with their considerable talents. There is also next summer's draft where we'll like have a pick in the 14-20 range as well as free agency.
