You are granted a minimum of a wish

Post by Monster »

You cleaning and you find an old basketball shoe in the corner you had long forgotten about. When you touch it out comes a very smelly genie and he says he will grant you the the amazing power to have any available unrestricted FA sign with the Wolves for the vet min. So...who do you pick and why?

Vet minimum? I wish I could find a young good-shooting wing, but in your hypothetical I turn to two aging Spurs vets.

First choice: Pau Gasol: Can still contribute in many ways. Adding another big allows Thibs to use Aldrich to try to find a backup wing

Second choice: Manu Ginobili. Wouldn't it be fun to have him coming off the bench behind Wig and Butler!

(neither of these deals is going to happen)

I'd be tempted to ask the smelly genie for Pau Gasol. But I think I'd ask for Troy Williams. I like his upside and it would be nice to add another pair of young legs to a roster that's been aging exponentially over the summer. :) My second choice would be Ian Clark.

I'm honestly kinda shocked you didn't go for your guy Affalo. :) Getting a younger player would be good though I'm not complaining.

I think we should leave Gasol and Manu out of this conversation it seems unikely they are actually available.

I'd sign KJ McDaniel's and see what Thibs could do with him as a guy who could guard multiple positions. He does nothing for shooting, but I think he could be a good/cheap defensive/do shit specialist off the bench. He's only 24. I think he's a good development candidate.

What's Big Baby up to?!? ;-)

Dante Cunningham could be a good fit. He does a lot of little things and even hit the 3 at a good clip last year. Maybe he has added that to his game...

I don't need a genie to get Afflalo. :)

This one is easy, I'd sign TheSP! There is no way he signs for the vetmin otherwise.
