Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

Post by Q12543 [enjin:6621299] »

Unrestricted free agent coming off of a one year $2.5M deal. He can't shoot and can't create his own offense, but it feels like we've largely solved that problem with all the trades. He can flat out defend, rebound, and disrupt. And he's at a size that is perfect for the type of switching defense Rosas wants to play.

He may be somewhat redundant to Culver and Okogie, but he's just flat out better than either of them defensively. And he's still fairly young. I think he needs to be a target this offseason. We absolutely need a player like him if we plan on even coming close to being an average defense.

I had interest in him last off-season. He's done nothing to change that.

Like others I had interest in him last year. I'm not knocking him but I bet his defense etc looks better playing on teams that are actually like good and know what the hell they are doing. It looks like he is playing at least half his minutes as a SF and it looks like he plays a decent chunk of time with OG as the other forward. I would think he would still be pretty cheap because he can't shoot. I think his offensive advanced metrics are close to or slightly positive this season. Again it probably helps playing with an even better group of Raptors guys. Last year was a down year in some respects and his team the Nets still overachieved.
