Fun fact: Jake Layman is the 3rd oldest player on the roster and that's counting Evan Turner who may never even step inside the building. Old man Jake turns 26 this weekend.

It won't be an issue getting under the tax even if Beasley signs a 4 year $60 mil deal. It just means Juancho likely won't come back unless he's super cheap (he likely won't be back regardless since our top pick is gonna have to play somewhere)

Towns and Russell = our max guys

Johnson has 1 more year at $16 mil.

Aldrich has one more year stretched at $685K (this is really the reason why they're paying the tax and let this be a lesson to Glen about unnecessarily stretching relatively minor deals with one year left. He did it with Kevin Martin and now Aldrich.)


Counting whatever Beasley's extension will be, the next highest paid guy will be Culver and/or our own draft pick this year.

Barring trades which will likely happen regardless (packaging Spellman, Turner, maybe even Nowell, Culver, and other picks), all it means is that they won't go crazy spending this summer outside of keeping Beasley. Not that they were gonna do that anyway.
