I read the article and I don't see how Iggy's "ability to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors will be heavily impacted by the amount of money Kevin Durant takes during his own free agency." The Warriors have Bird rights to Iggy. Therefore, the Warriors overall payrolll, including what they pay Durant, has no bearing on their "ability" to re-sign Iggy. Nor will it likely impact their "decision" on whether to re-sign him since how far they go into luxury tax territory probably won't be a significant concern to the Warriors. If they let him go, they'll be severely limited by the cap on what they can pay someone to replace him. And even in the unlikely event the Warriors let Iggy go, I don't see him coming to a 31-win team that MIGHT make the playoffs as a 8th or 7th seed.

Just another example of typical NBA reporting where reporters throw out unverified ideas of their own or from dubious anonymous sources. So I'm not going out on a limb in guaranteeing that Iggy will not be with the Timberwolves next season.

I am no expert, but Durant is opting out and so has to be re-signed with cap space. To do that, the warriors may have to renounce Iggy's cap-hold and thus his rights. That means they will have to use cap space for his deal as well.

OK. Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't aware of the opt-out impact. I was just assuming the team had Bird rights to re-sign Durant under any circumstances without regard to the cap. But as Q mentioned, it's highly doubtful that Iggy would sign here in the event he decides not to stay with the Warriors.

This article suggests Iggy will be back and Durant will take less money to accommodate it. I like Iggy but I think we need to look elsewhere.

That's kinda funny but he still gets 2 million bucks. I was hoping the would let him go. Bring Tolliver back home. I'm not joking he would be a solid addition.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind bringing back Tolliver for that 3/4 guy that might just let Wiggins play some more 2. But I think I would take a stab at signing Luc Mbah a Moute or Dante Cunningham first...

I'd take Tolliver over the other two. Tolliver can shoot the three.

I think those other 2 guys are a little better players but honestly I would be pretty happy with any of them. Tolliver takes more than corner 3's which is pretty much what Luc and Dante have been able to do. Based on a few shot charts I looked at Tolliver makes a decent percentage on the non corner 3's.

Wait we're bringing Tolliver, Cunningham, or MBAM back? Maybe Kahn wasn't so bad.

Well, get a load of this. All three of those guys would have led the Wolves in 3-point percentage this past season.

Of course, when they were actual Wolves, their 3-point percentage in their latest season with us was 25%, 0%, and 21% respectively.

Amazing, but I shouldn't be surprised. Minnesota is the team where 3-point shooters go to die or escape from to get better elsewhere.

I'd take LUc back easily over the other two, but I thought he had one more year? He is a far more versatile defender, and plenty capable from the 3.

He has a player option for so little he is likely to opt out.

Kahn made a good move signing Tolliver and then when he had a down year he moved on and honestly probably should have kept him around. He traded Ellington for Dante and that was a solid trade. I wouldn't mind having either guy right now heck Inwould take both of them at a decent price. Flip traded D-Will for Luc so don't be going and giving Kahn any credit here unless you want to give him credit for drafting D-Will to have the value to get Luc here. Lol
