A Wolves team with the Ricky "Curry stopper" Rubio, a big man who can make them pay for playing Draymond at the 5 in KAT and the firepower of our current big 3 would give him arguably his best chance. In addition LeBron is the playoff tested veteran leader this team needs. Get it done Thibs
Get ready for some backlash from all the people here who said we shouldn't sign Durant last summer because it would limit our opportunities in the future.
Who said that?
Noone actually said that, right?
Heh, I can't even remember Durant's name coming up as it seemed so unrealistic. A number of us were breathlessly hoping that we could sign "stars" like Horford or Deng.
Of course we ended up doing what seems to be an annual tradition for the Wolves - we signed a couple of solid vet free agents that came here and they immediately became less impactful and less utilized than they were with their prior teams. Of course!
Yes there were some people that argued that if we signed Durant it would jepordize keeping the young 3 together. I honestly don't remember where I fell on the subject (fantasy) assuming we had any real chance to get him. Remember too Durant did have a bit of injury risk as well. It was never going to happen but it was kinda fun that people went back and forth about it.
