hold your horses Tim, Scott Brooks went from a shoe in playoff team to another shoe in playoff team. Thibs would be giving that in game interview if he went to Washington as well. Also wasn't one of Brook's knocks his terrible offenisve strategy and how little the ball moved? Washionton's team assists have dropped this season under Brooks by the way. OKC fans hated his playcalls and how often he would let Durant and Westbrook go iso, I give him very little credit for taking over a talented team that was making the playoffs with Randy freakin Wittman.

We might have hired the wrong coach. Thibs preaches "share the ball", but other than Rubio, this team does not do it. Either Thibs doesn't REALLY believe in "share the ball", or he can't figure out how to make his big three do it. And I don't see how any "off-season acquisition" is going to fix the problem.

Can Thibs make his big three have a complete change of mindset on the offensive end? (not to mention the defensive end!)

Not a fan of the hiring, but I'll give him another half season. Definitely don't like the front office moves, specifically having one guy run the team, and coach.

I'm with sjm on this. Like sjm, I wasn't thrilled with the Thibs hire. But he needs another half-season, perhaps a whole season, before I'm prepared to make a final judgment on him. I don't think Scottie Brooks was the answer, so I'm fine with not hiring him.

I'm still in Thibs' corner. I just felt a need to point out a major flaw our team has on the offensive end that will continue to make our supporting cast look less than they are...

This Clipper-Jazz game has been very entertaining. Especially since it's so great to see the Clippers lose at home! :-D

Honestly it's amazing how the Clips made it a 7 game series after losing Blake. I mean I think he is their 3rd most important player but still.

We need to stick with Thibs for at least 2, maybe 3 more seasons. Another change soon. Would be a terrible mistake.

I'm not sure even the Thibs skeptics are in favor of a change they just have concerns about if it ends up not working out well. I think everyone realizes unless things go REALLY poorly Thibs/Layden are here for at least 3 years. The patience Thibs/Layden have shown so far is somewhat admirable. I think most people thought they would have gone bonkers and brought in some vets and cut young players time. In fact mostly the opposite has happened although they did bring in some vets in Lance and Casspi because they had an open roster spot and an obvious need. We will see how things play out it's another important summer but maybe in the most different way than we have seen in at least 10 years.

Well, Glen won't give him that long if we keep losing. If we don't show major improvement next year, I'll bet Thibs is out or demoted. Maybe if we have a bad year and it is due to KAT being injured, I could see some chance of him getting a third year. Thibs wasn't my first or second choice, but I supported him and hoped he'd improve our defense. I am ready to give him a year longer as a coach. My thinking on Thibs will also be impacted on how he does this offseason. At this point, I'd be relieved if he doesn't make any bad trades. If he trades Ricky for garbage or trades away our draft pick for a non-star player, then I will be rightfully disappointed in Thibs. Hopefully, he makes no dumb trades, adds a good draft pick and uses the cap space wisely.

The Wizards play a lot like the wolves in that they are so dependent on Wall to have the ball in his hands and set players up. That's what we do with Rubio, a large amount of our possessions are Ricky dribbling to create a look for a guy and then a shot. Minimal ball movement after Ricky's pass. Gortat appears to be a decent and willing passer out of the PnR. But they don't have many skilled dribblers after Wall.
Only the few elite teams have multiple guys on the court at once who can create and initiate offense outside of the PG, and those elite teams have PGs who are effective without the ball. I think Tibs was trying to get Wig to do that all year, I agreed with his philosophy and still do even though the results weren't there.
