It hit me while I was watching that how great would it have been if though Stockton Malone teams had a guy like Gobert instead of a guy like Greg Ostertag who actually wasn't terrible it was just solid at his best. Those were fun teams to watch though.

Draymond worked himself into a T and his final foul was so obvious that it was afpulnand then he got his T from the bench. I was surprised it was his first of the playoffs.

Go Jazz.

To be fair, they did have Mark Eaton.

Guy blocked 5.6 shots per game one year. He won 2 DPOY awards.

Remember, when the Jazz finally broke through and made the Finals... Stockton was already in his mid 30s and on the decline.

That being said Lebron really did make the Raptors look like kids this series he has reached another level. I'm glad he is proving to be a tank like Karl Malone so we can witness this. Hopefully it runs out by the time we make our championship push though!

The Raps had been building so well and now...man they have some decisions to make. I've been on the Cory Joseph bandwagon since his first year in Toronto. You are right he is a good player.

D Carroll's contract isn't that bad since the cap went up but he hasn't really been the awesome signing that I know I thought he would be. I am gonna admit here I was wrong on that one. He could be a cautionary tale of some of these not star players we are talking about and he SEEMED headed up. Sigh. Thibs and Layden have their work cut out for themselves.

There is a steep and significant drop between Kyle Lowry and Cory Joseph.

Joseph made either 1 bucket or no buckets in 5 of his 10 playoff games. Yesterday's 20/12 game was probably his 2nd best game of the season.

He's a good backup. Not a building block. That being said, I believe Lowry is 31, so I get apprehension about paying him $100+M moving forward. So they build around DeRozan? That's fair. But he has his detractors, too. How many franchise players known mostly for scoring get held to 0 field goals in one playoff game... and only 2 in another? He hit 1 three pointer in 10 games.

I did think of Eaton but that was before the time I referred to. I remeber him playing and that he was good but I was pretty young at the time. Stockton was fun to watch wasn't he?

Joseph is a legit rotation player a nice combo guard that can do a lot of good things. Yeah he isn't a guy to build around.

The word is Lowry is considering moving to the west. It will be interesting.

I wish we would make a run at him to be an upgrade to Ricky, but depending on what CP3 does he could end up in SA, LAC, LAL, or NO realistically. I don't see how we beat out most of those teams.

I wish the NBA playoffs were half as compelling as the NHL. It's just a laborious exercise until you get to the finals. Most of the games are blowouts and only the Celtics-Wizards series features teams that could be considered up and comers. The liberal rules regarding player movement are starting to harm the product in my opinion.

It probably won't improve until Lebron drops off because guys are just gonna keep going to the West to make super teams because Lebron just makes it to the finals every year on the East side. Unless you can get multiple guys to jump to the East on 1 team I don't see it improving soon.

East: LeBron
West: Durant, Curry, Westbrook, Harden, Kawhi, Anthony Davis

That's 6 of the 7 best players in the league in 1 conference.

This has been an issue for a long time. Lets hope the new CBA helps.

It just seems rare in general to have a blowout in hockey because the nature of the game. You can be down 3 goals and score 2 goals in the time it takes to get something out of the fridge. A goalie who might not be a top level player having a terrific series can have such a large impact. The NBA especially with the bigger focus on the 3 point line you can end up with wild swings even between good teams.

Also after looking at the Jazz getting thumped by GS in the first quarter it brings up the injuries in the playoffs the last few years. One injury can have a pretty big impact on a series in the NBA. I don't know if it's quite the same in the NHL to that extent. The teams go so much deeper.

I just tuned back in for a couple minutes and Exum seems to have been a catalyst to this comeback to make it a game at the half.
