Poor AB. I think even Khansy gave up on him after he flamed out with his 3rd or 4th team.
Some good stuff on a couple of my "trade down" guys Thornwell and Bell. Not so much on OG or Ike.
The guy just must be a wreck mentally or dumb as a rock because he had virtually the perfect physical profile for a 4 in today's game coming out of college.

Actually, I think I was more bullheaded than Khansy in refusing to give up on AB. I actually liked him as the #1 pick in the draft after watching him at UNLV (I think Lip might have been a fan too), but I stayed with him far too long after he showed he still wasn't going to succeed in the NBA. He just finished up winning a championship in Europe (although he didn't get many minutes) and was quoted as saying he still thinks he will play in the NBA. I don't think so.
Often a very talented player drops like a stone in the draft because of character issues. If Josh Jackson's off court issues make him this year's "dropper" and we get him at 7, is he likely to become our starting SF?

Long-term, maybe. Short-term, Zach and Wiggins are the starters unless health deems otherwise. There's almost no chance any rookie outperforms them in year 4. The benefit with Jackson is he can play next to both of them in the rotation at either wing spot so he would actually be able to backup both positions and get a decent amount of playing time if he earns it.

I agree, Kahns. At a minimum, he's give us another high-motor defender similar to Dunn who could possibly be a valuable contributor off the bench his first season.
I want Jonathan Isaac if the Wolves leadership decides to keep the pick. Aside from Fultz and Ball, I don't think there's a better pick for Minnesota in this draft. He provides a lot of what they lack from the perimeter while presenting unique versatility that only a few players in the NBA can match. I also think he's a defense-first, tough, high-motor and high-character type player that would be a good blend with the current nucleus.
PS: My apologies for being away from the board for some time. Career opportunity presented itself and that's where my focus was.

Good to have you back pre-draft, Cam...always appreciate your thoughts on college players I didn't get a chance to watch during the year. I hope the career opportunity is panning out.
There are several of us here who crave Isaac...I've loved him since early in the year and think he has an enormous upside. Most of us here don't see him dropping to 7 though. He's already projected top 6 in most mocks I believe, and he's the kind of kid that could soar after workouts. Do you have a plausible scenario under which he is available to us at 7?

Kahns makes a great point about his physical profile for the PF position these days...assuming his is in good shape still. I think mentally he just wasn't ready for everything that came with coming into the league especially as a #1 overall pick. I've dogged the guy plenty but he has physical talent to play but whether or not he gets it? Idk there are so many other guys like a Dante Cunningham type players that are fighting to get into the league it's not going to be easy to make it.

Good to have you back Cam congrats on the opportunity.
I hope you would give a few thoughts on a some of the other prospects in this draft both good and bad. I want Isaac too.
