According to doogie:

Wolves and the mavs have talked about dsj.

Pistons, philly, lakers, and rockets have shown interest in tolliver.

Jonk on his most recent podcast mentioned that layden might make a move to prove that he can do this job as well as try to distance himself from thibs.

Anyone that can't fit with Luka Doncic is someone that I'm just not dying to get on my team. Just my thoughts. I think he's a nice player to watch YouYube highlights of, but I think we have three better point guards on the roster currently.

What would the Wolves have to offer that would entice the Mavs to move DSJ? Tyus and a future 1st round pick? The Wolves need a dynamic guard but again I don't see this happening and again like others I'm not sure about the fit.

At this point I think I would be willing to move Tolliver for a decent 2nd rounder. Play Deng or even get KBD some minutes. Trading Tolliver could hurt the team's chances of winning as the game in Utah showed but I'm ready to let go. EDIT: also worth noting is Tolliver has his no trade clause and one way or another he could be out of here in a few days if he really wants to make a stink about it. Would he try and work his way out with a buy out? Idk but I'd guess he would like to play. Meanwhile I doubt Rose wants to move on at this point. I don't think you are getting more than some 2nd rounders for him. I think there is a real chance he stays beyond this year so that's not a good enough return for me. I think Taj would be hard for me to move he is playing so well plus I think his higher salary makes it pretty tricky to find a partner.

We still don't know what type of team we are due to all these injuries. We are playing +.500 bal without important players, are we a playoff team if cov or teague didnt get hurt?

Pg is the one spot I think we can look into because of so much uncertainty next year.

Teague might opt out.
Rose might get a big offer.
Tyus might want too much.
Bayless is an UFA.

To piggyback on others here...

I can also see Layden doing something... anything. He's basically a dead man walking otherwise, right? Why not take a swing while going out the door. That's IF Taylor lets him.

And I'm not a big fan of the Dennis Smith experience. He screams "decent stats on bad team" kind of guy.

[Note: To be fair, that's a lot of assumptions on my part.]

I'm with you on this, Cam. I'm not interested in Smith.

I'd look to move Tolliver and Rose for draft picks. I could see the Sixers giving us their Sacramento second round pick for Tolliver. That pick will probably be in the #40-42 range. Maybe the Kings would part with their Chicago second round pick, which will likely be around 32-34. It's possible that the Rockets would be willing to give up their 2019 first round pick for Derrick Rose. They need something to give them a jolt and Rose could do that. Their pick will likely be in the low to mid-20s.

I just don't know how the Wolves can keep pace with the PG situation as it is...

... I'm actually ok with them kicking the tires on a few trades. The playoffs are too much of a stretch even if they were completely healthy.

Yeah, you just aren't going to compete when Bayless and Canaan are your 2 PGs...especially matched with Josh Okogie as your "shooting" guard. It also makes it difficult to truly evaluate Ryan as a coach...does he lose the chance to lose the interim label because he doesn't have a competitive roster with 4 key players out, or does Glen cut him too much slack for the same reason?

The only good news is Rose at least practiced yesterday, albeit without contact. I've heard nothing about the other 3 though. Something about Teague's injury is telling me he is last to return...he sounds really discouraged.

This was already going to be a tough assessment period for Saunders. This makes it extremely difficult.

If he's brought back, it's going to be because his family has lifetime membership in the Glen Taylor Country Club. That's not a knock on Saunders...
