New Look Wolves @ Magic GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

I rather doubt we will see any trade(s) for the Wolves today, but I figure this will be a "new look" Wolves tonight. The trade deadline will have passed. No reason for players to be distracted by trade possibilities. And its crossed my mind that Ryan's rotations could also have been influenced by the upcoming trade deadline.

But tonight begins the final push for Ryan. Despite the Memphis loss, he has the opportunity to finish strong into the all-star break, setting up an intriguing battle over the stretch run to make the playoffs. Of course, limping into the all-star break could create an insurmountable gap in the standings to seriously make a playoff push, which is where most of you are already.

Winning these next two games will set up a home game with the Clippers with all sorts of ramifications. The Clippers are likely to lose their next two games, which means a win on Monday would create a tie with the Clippers in the loss column. Go figure!

Anyway, I am hoping we see a new look Wolves tonight, whether by trade, a player coming back from injury, or something else, like Saric in the starting lineup.

So unlike most of you, "Go Wolves!!" ;-)

A lot of faces have changed over the years... but the Wolves are 1 - 9 in Orlando since 2008.

I'm surprised the oddsmakers have the Magic as a 3-point favorite...I guess Vegas has finally noticed how many injured players we have. Orlando on the other hand is only missing the rookie Bamba. Still, I'm would be on the Wolves plus 3 if I were betting this one...Orlando just isn't that good.

Plus they just traded Jonathon Simmons.

I will feel better about the game if Teague can play. Bayless played like a backup PG last game...

Anybody still wanna bag on Kahn for acquiring all those PGs? Apparently he could see the future!

Not sure if losing Simmons helps us much...he may be the only wing in the league shooting worse than Okogie, and he doesn't give them Josh's intensity.

Teague was upgraded to questionable, but it doesn't sound like he expects to play...told Hine he hopes to play soon. Bayless was bad last game, but he has been quite impressive in most of his other games. I trust him to play well tonight, but I'm concerned about the minutes Ryan has to give to the Loose Canaan.

Josh has to play 30 minutes probably tongiht...I want him to play within himself on offense like he did against Memphis and be disruptive on defense. Like you, I think it would be great if the "new look" began with a Saric start tonight, but I'm not optimistic. At least let's hope he is as effective as he was against Memphis.

And dammit, we have to get something offensively from Wig.
