I think this has contributed to Saric's frustration causing him to force up highly contested 3's. I think this has happened with Tolliver. I don't know the answer to why this team just doesn't create open 3 pt opportunities at the rate of other teams. I don't know the stats, just my observation. Tolliver's 3's are highly contested also. We've fail to capitalize on both skill sets. The use of Tolliver has been an on going frustration for me. Jim Pete said it last night, he needs to be playing the 4, something I've been preaching all year.

The difference between Saric and Tolliver is that Tolliver can make those contested 3's. His jumper is way more advanced. He doesn't need that much of an opening to get it off. I agree too many are contested compared to open but they are different level of shooters. Also I believe Both guys are actually good at shooting above the break they didn't need to be shooting in the corners. Saric should be utilized much more as a screener. If Dieng misses time we will see Tolliver playing more as a spacing big. It could be a good development. It's also worth remembering that Belly was not known as a shooter early in his career and now that's a big part of why he is effective. Saric is pretty far ahead of Belly in that regard. Belly's Development in Europe as a 3 point shooter was in some ways a bit of a surprise. Saric seems like too good as a ball handler, high IQ guy and shooter not to become better as a threat from the 3 point line and not just as a spot up guy but as a guy that gets his look off a couple dribbles like some of the other pretty good shooting bigs in the league. It's not a guarantee obviously but I think it can absolutely be there. The coaching staff and his teammates need to get him some easy looks though at times. It's not happening right now. Some of that is lack of true PGs playing. Bayless was never a true passing PG even when he was younger.
