Mmmmm, I actually think more fans liked him than not. And the realistic ones recognized his flaws, but felt he wasn't the albatross that his biggest detractors made him out to be. Thibs was the guy that chafed him I think (shocking, I know).

As for his fit with our current roster, he's not ideal, but he's not horrible either....in other words, not much different than Teague! I wonder how much he'll command in the open market this offseason?


Always liked rubio and understood his flaws as a shooter, but hes a better version of tyus. I always thought he fit well with kat and wiggins, on and off the court. Teague talked about guys not hanging out together, but those guys did. Rubio even had these guys over to Spain in the summer. I felt rubio played that big brother role for them.

I think it was mostly a thibs issue with rubio. He wanted a very specific type of pg regardless of how the pieces fit around that pg.


Jon K has said Rubio and Ryan Saunders have quite the connection. They worked together a lot and they also lost parents around the same time. I could see Rubio coming back (if Ryan wa drhe coach) If Utah was willing to move on. I honestly have no idea what his market value would be. There are gonna be a bunch of worthwhile PGs available this summer. Personally Tyus is the Rubio guy type guy now. We don't need 2 of them and I would put Tyus as a higher priority. Is Rubio a better player now? Sure...but that could change quickly and I'd bet Tyus as a RFA will come cheaper and is much younger. Rubio coming back also depends on what happens with Rose.

I think the reason why Rubio and Thibs didn't get along was more about their approaches than what Rubio could or couldn't do on the floor and what Thibs wanted. Rubio wanted to be a family involved have a say etc. Thibs wanted it to be a business. If you have followed Rubio the last few years in articles and social media like Instagram he is pretty chill sort of philosophical type guy living sort of a journey. That didn't mesh with Thibs. Do I think Thibs wanted a different type of PG also? Yes but I think if they had a more similar philosophy of life they would have been much more likely to get through it. Remember Rubio at that point had a career year playing for Thibs after sucking bad. He was playing aggressively as a scorer. The fact that we got a 1st round pick for him make it a positive move but it's very understandable why people still have a yearning for Rubio and don't have much of an appreciation for Teague.

Towns torpedoes a nice start with 2 dumb fouls...slapping at the ball on D and running over Rondo on O. Two things he needs to stop. Down 4 with KAT on the bench.

Saric and G are a disaster together and now insert Tolliver. The wing depth is so brutal on this team.

Lakers performing as expected beyond the arc...2-9 so far. Never would have predicted Rondo would have all their threes.
