New Look Wolves @ Magic GDT
Re: New Look Wolves @ Magic GDT
Going through Twitter and see that Dave Benz will be missing the next game to attend his Mother's funeral and Marney will be doing the game. Sad to hear about Benz's loss. It did remind me though that the Orlando crew was actually pretty enjoyable to listen to. It seemed like they had actually done their homework.

Don't be that guy.
Not after you literally spent 4,000 posts blaming the previous coach.
You don't get to have your cake and eat it, too.
[Note: Saunders has an uphill battle for sure. But I'm calling you out for being disingenuous on how YOU treat coaches on this forum... while making it seem like others are doing it. That's BS.]

DVR Recap: Buckle up... things are gonna get a bit bumpy. But as a 30-year devotee... I've earned this:
- KAT is super good. Shot 75%... and was the best passer on the team, too. The 5 assists don't do it justice. His passing has been the #1 improvement in his game. Great to see. But he's not making All NBA. And I fear that's going to have a lasting impact on this franchise. Starting ANOTHER re-rebuild is going to have a lasting impact on KAT's loyalty to this organization. Having a 5th coach in 5 seasons is going to have an impact. Not having anything remotely close to a #2 guy next to him is going to have an impact.
Unless something drastically changes in the next 18 - 24 months with how players are taking more and more empowerment about where they play... KAT is gone. And he'd have a better case than many other players out there demanding trades. There's no reasonable reason for him to stay in MN long term.
- Okogie sure does look like he's hustling. Meh. Corey Brewer v2.0 aint enough for me. For the life of me, I don't understand why so many are so optimistic about him. He's just another guy when you compare him to literally dozens of other young players around the league. He doesn't do a single thing above average (or even average?) other than "hustling" which is its own discussion.
- Wiggins MISSED more shots than KAT took last night. Remember the part about KAT shooting 75%? Wiggins has now shot under 50% in 18 of the past 21 games... and under 40% in 8 of the past 9 games. Obviously, playing for good friend, Ryan Saunders, hasn't been the longlost answer.
- So the Wolves stand pat at the deadline... they keep veterans like Tolliver and Gibson. True veterans who can be leaders and examples for the young kids. Fair enough.
Gibson is 3 - 10 fg the past two games with 4 rebounds and 7 fouls. Combined. A closer look at those fouls would show that this seasoned, smart, experienced veteran fouled a 32% three point shooter 2x yesterday. Anthony Tolliver is 0 - 5 in the last two losses to crappy teams. The Wolves already regret not sending out both for something... anything.
- It's over. If the team can't get up for the Memphis Grizzlies with Bruno Cabocle and can't keep one of the worst shooting teams in the league under 54%... all while "desperately trying for a playoff berth"... what's going to happen when the the same players realize the playoffs aren't obtainable?

Travel for work and dinners out. I'm also getting to a point where I dread actually watching them live, so I will probably just re-watch games that we win from here on out.

I missed the Memphis game. Simply forgot about it. But a recent technological advancement has change the game, literally, for me.
Voice Forwarding on my DVR recording. I "missed/skipped" the 2nd half of last night in record time! No more seeing the Wolves+opponent in 4x speed race up and down only to see the other team celebrate more and more as the little scrolling score on the bottom reminded me about how bleak the situation was.
It was so disheartening... seeing that little ticker click over on only one side of the ledger.
Now, with a simple "Forward 5 minutes" I can move ahead in seconds and not have to suffer the agony of watching a 12 - 3 run by the opposition in only 4x speed.
Long live the future!!!

Yeah, I'm just not watching or checking box scores until the game is over. If we win, I will get some satisfaction from watching how we win. If we lose, I will just check the box score and forget about watching the game or even any highlights.

THis is what I've been doing for the past 15-20 games. Welcome to the new NBA fan! Hopefully it has an impact on ratings.
