He shot 5 - 16.

Granted, the three pointers were nice (4 - 11) but he's a very limited stopgap at this point. Vet's minimum? Sure. But he should be an afterthought until the very end if nothing else.

Bayless was relentlessly booed in Philly...he is what he is, and I don't think anyone here would advocate paying him any more than the vet minimum to be our 3rd PG. But if either Rose or Teague is gone before next year, he would be a decent option at a cheap cost. Why would he take it? I don't know that he is very highly regarded around the league, and he might see the potential for more playing time here given Rose's injury history.

We need all the guys that Philly boo's we already got 2 of them in Covington and bayless. Can't let Jarred get away. lol also Abe thanks for the reality check. Again I wanted to see what Bayless does the rest of the year. If he looks solid I want him back for cheap. He could be realively replaceable. That's what I would bet on but I've been pleasantly surprised with what's i have seen and I probably believed in him more than most here. The shooting percentages for him sorta make Okogie look good. Lol

I get as a fan we wanna make the playoffs but it's still very unlikely and at best we are playing to get destroyed in the 1st round. Rose is the only one that could possibly get a 1st from a desperate team trying to make a run. You have to make that trade if you're a smart front office. This team is so weak with wing depth and other positions. Some picks and flexibility going forward is huge!!

Duke - I agree it would be a mistake not th TRY and trade Taj, Rose, Tolliver and Teague before the Feb. trade deadline. The last couple weeks before the deadline is when you can find desperate teams trying to make a run who will overpay for a good veteran or two to help them get better playoff position and possibly make a championship run. I'd shop Tolliver and Teague really hard, but I'm not sure we'd get much for either one. Tolliver isn't that valuable and Teague is overpriced. I'd be reluctant to trade Taj or Rose because of what they contribute to this team both on the court and in the lockerroom. They both have heart and this team needs all the heart it can get. I think Rose or Taj could bring a 1st round pick in return. Would I make that deal? Not sure. The pick would probably be in the mid-20s. I'm torn.

I get being torn. No way Taj gets a 1st, zero chance. Playoff teams want spacing out of a 4 because of the effect not having it has on everyone else. This is something the wolves don't understand. Taj is a very solid player, but no way he gets a 1st. A team like Philly badly wants a 4, they wouldn't even play him.

One thing that's kinda easy to forget about Saric is that this is his 3rd year in the NBA and now on his 2nd team traded during this season. Yeah he played professionally for years but still it's his 3rd year. Saric unless he has a matchup nearer the basket doesn't have the physical ability to force the issue offensively so i think both because of his ability to be creative and also needing to know his spots on the floor we haven't exactly seen the best of him the last chunk of games especially playing off the bench with whoever is available because I think he needs to know his place and where everyone else is supposed to be more. I still think Saric can be a nice piece for this team as at least a more modern version of Taj a guy that comes in and just helps you.

You mean similar to how Houston didn't immediately snap up a similar player in Faried? And how poorly he has fit as a non-shooting, smart basketball player? Oh wait, he has been a great fit. Not saying he would get a 1st round pick (as he is an expiring),but your view on Taj is warped. He would log major minutes as starter/backup on any team in the league. Taj is one of those vets you can easily plug-and-play. He can fit on any team, and would have value if we started shopping him. Would teams prefer him to be a 3 point sharpshooter? Absolutely. But you know what....that player wouldn't be available in a trade either.

I only bring this up because you seem to negatively comment frequently on a guy that has perhaps been one of our top 2-3 most consistent guys the past couple seasons.
