Deng can still play a little and contribute as a situational bench guy.

- Any win with only your 4th string PG for the final 30 minutes is a good win. Damn... the Lakers looked terrible. Kuzma has been playing well, he had a rough game. As for Ingram, he finished with 20 points on only 14 shots... but I thought he was mostly "meh." From body language to style, I saw a Michael Beasley type guy out there. I don't think he's close to "figuring it out."

- Wiggins as a PG frightens me. A lot. But he came up with some nice plays and it's good it was one of his aggressive games. I do wish he would stop with the fadeaway mid-range shots though. They're just not good shots. KAT passed up a three to take one dribble and miss a 21 footer too. Stop doing that!

- Jared Terrell and Luol Deng! I didn't even know who Terrell was. I thought it was CJ Wilson at first... and got mad he was on the court. They combined to shoot 7 - 9 fg... at a crucial part of the game. More interestingly, Saunders sat Anthony Tolliver in this one.

- I thought Gorgui Dieng played horribly. And Saric wasn't much better. But at least Saric's dentist is happy.

- TNT (and seemingly everybody else in the media) really really dislike KAT. Is there something else we're missing? He's just not a well-liked guy. They literally had nothing good to say about him. Between guys like that... and embarrassingly low fan votes... and very few basketball media bobos on his side... it's weird.

- I spend 1/2 of the game wondering/worrying when KAT is going to get called for fouls.

- Bayless is a 4th string caliber PG. But a good one at that. He's a pro with experience and the Wolves needed that last night.

- Okogie will have to hit shots. Teams are starting to treat him like he's Roberson or Tony Allen... but he's not nearly as good as them defensively to make it worth putting him out there.

- I'm cringing about tonight's game. The Jazz are playing great... and I don't see how the Wolves are beating them without Teague, Rose, Roco and Jones. And maybe Saric?

- With back-to-back games vs. the Jazz... you guys ready to hate Joe Ingles? You will after the weekend. The guy is so damn chippy. Utah fans LOVE him... every other fanbase hates him. He's really cheap.

So you would have been ok if it had been C.J. Wilson? I think he would have a chance to pitch a nice game In relief and his spin rate on layups might be better than Derrick Rose. Still I'm not sure how he would get mistaken for Jared Terrell... :) To be fair C.J. Williams does sound like a made up name of some random basketball player in a video game.

I wanted the TNT broadcast also. I'm not a fan of Webber and Marv Albert...is getting old. Maybe I was sorta tuning them out or skipped ahead like during FTs and such and missed some of their stuff. It wasn't as horrible as I was expecting. I didn't have any of the in studio stuff...I wouldn't watch it if I did. I did get a kick out of Marv saying every person imaginable that had been a ball boy ever. It was actually kinda interesting. I did think Webber was right down the stretch they needed to keep going to Wiggins and or Towns. The funny part was one point he said it was because it was a young team theybwerent getting it to the right guys. It wasn't really a young team though with like 3 thirty year olds on the floor etc. The point was still fair though. Anyway yes I think they are pretty hard on Towns. Oh well.

Zubac had a nice first half. I don't remember what happened in the 2nd half. Did Walton soft tank by playing someone else? Lol

No I don't want to see video-game-created CJ Wilson on the court as part of the Timberwolves ever again.

Oh... one more thing about last night...

KAT continues to improve passing the ball. He had 5 assists... but there were even more "hockey assists" last night that either ended up in a jumper... or more likely... in a wide-open missed Okogie jumper.

But KAT got the ball moving from the post which is always good to see.

Yeah, hes been looking to pass more, but he needs to stop those white chocolate passes.

His ast numbers should also go up when cov gets back because passing to okogie and saric is doing him no favors.

As for Okogie needing to make shots yes he does but if they are gonna leave him wide open in the corner he needs to keep taking them. One thing that helps and also gets him in trouble at times is he likes to and does draw fouls. In this game he was more of a bad shooting Corey Brewer out there. He was pretty out of control at times. He did enough out there to help us win this game. We will need more from him against Utah.

It was a revenge game, and Wig even mentioned post-game that they were happy for Lu. But that said, has Deng had even one ineffective minute in the three or four games Ryan has inserted him? Ryan is using him brilliantly, and Luol is responding.

Deng's 5 games under Ryan Saunders:
NOP - 4 minutes, +4
@PHI 15 mins, -11
PHO - 4 mins, +2
@PHO - 14 mins, +5
@ LAL - 11 mins, +6

Overall season Net Rating - leads the team at +9

I think Ryan is using him perfectly. Not too much, not too little. I could see his minutes inching up slightly more if he outplays Tolliver. Defensively, he is still pretty damn good from what I can tell.

It's hard to believe he was a full-time SF at one time. If you aren't paying real close attention, he looks the same size as Dieng.

Yeah well opposng team announces basically always assume it's Dieng. Marv Albert didn't figure it out last night till well after Deng hit his first shot. Meanwhile Webber was later wondering if he had the athletism to finish. I think Tayshan Prince was better able to guard onnthe perimeter but Deng looks a lot better as an offensive player stepping into shots with confidence.
