The Lakers aren't great but honestly that was sort of a hell of a win. Bayless was basically the starting PG since Tose only played 12 minutes and Bayless was a reason we won the game. This would have likely been a laugher if Rondo not suited up. He was mostly terrific.

Deng can play. It was interesting he got minutes over Tolliver in the 2nd half. He played well.

I think what makes Terrell a guy that MIGHT have a chance to make it is I think he knows how to play D and has the bulk to do some work plus he is very athletic. Regardless he made some shots tonight and it was big.

Wiggins is flawed but he was pretty big in that 2nd half.

Anyone else see how the lakers started defending okogie? His man wasnt even in the same half of the court? Is that even legal? Rondo or hart would just race to play rover between the basket and whoever was defending kat and sometimes wiggs.

DVR REVIEW RECAP (watched TNT broadcast):

- Any win with only your 4th string PG for the final 30 minutes is a good win. Damn... the Lakers looked terrible. Kuzma has been playing well, he had a rough game. As for Ingram, he finished with 20 points on only 14 shots... but I thought he was mostly "meh." From body language to style, I saw a Michael Beasley type guy out there. I don't think he's close to "figuring it out."

- Wiggins as a PG frightens me. A lot. But he came up with some nice plays and it's good it was one of his aggressive games. I do wish he would stop with the fadeaway mid-range shots though. They're just not good shots. KAT passed up a three to take one dribble and miss a 21 footer too. Stop doing that!

- Jared Terrell and Luol Deng! I didn't even know who Terrell was. I thought it was CJ Wilson at first... and got mad he was on the court. They combined to shoot 7 - 9 fg... at a crucial part of the game. More interestingly, Saunders sat Anthony Tolliver in this one.

- I thought Gorgui Dieng played horribly. And Saric wasn't much better. But at least Saric's dentist is happy.

- TNT (and seemingly everybody else in the media) really really dislike KAT. Is there something else we're missing? He's just not a well-liked guy. They literally had nothing good to say about him. Between guys like that... and embarrassingly low fan votes... and very few basketball media bobos on his side... it's weird.

- I spend 1/2 of the game wondering/worrying when KAT is going to get called for fouls.

- Bayless is a 4th string caliber PG. But a good one at that. He's a pro with experience and the Wolves needed that last night.

- Okogie will have to hit shots. Teams are starting to treat him like he's Roberson or Tony Allen... but he's not nearly as good as them defensively to make it worth putting him out there.

- I'm cringing about tonight's game. The Jazz are playing great... and I don't see how the Wolves are beating them without Teague, Rose, Roco and Jones. And maybe Saric?

- With back-to-back games vs. the Jazz... you guys ready to hate Joe Ingles? You will after the weekend. The guy is so damn chippy. Utah fans LOVE him... every other fanbase hates him. He's really cheap.

It's been a problem for several games now, and it makes sense...he's making less than 37% of his shots and was 2-12 last night (0-7 on threes, even though most of them were unguarded). Even his 26% on threes is a mirage, because it is benefited by 3 really hot nights...most nights he can be expected to be under 20%. Josh continues to provide a lot of energy and remains our best wing option behind Wig with Rob out, but he needs to shoot better to get minutes when Rob is back. We may be able to score 4 on 5 against the woeful Lakers, but it's not going to work against teams like Utah.

Ya the KAT thing is really weird. The narrative is laughable, jimmy killed his rep and Kat playoff performance didn't do him any favors. But he is so good.

I got mad after the game when Shaq got after Towns for shooting 3s and not posting up enough. Well Kat is 2nd in the NBA in post ups behind Aldridge and he was 3 of 5 from deep last night.

The only way the narrative can change is we make the playoffs and Kat shows up

Yeah... not to sound like a provincial butthurt rube here... but as a small market fanbase, it's easy to get riled up with the ignorance. After all, every superstar guy is going to be pushed into different markets EVERY time.

So there are two ways to look at this.

1) The nonstop barrage of negativity will actually curb KAT's appeal.

2) KAT will eventually assume all this negative press is because he plays in MN.

Meh. Does Charles Barkley really affect anything beyond the tens of millions of casual fans who keep the NBA afloat? Maybe... maybe not. But it's puzzling to me that they can be so wrong.

Your mention of the three pointers (which he hit and there were only 5 of them... which isn't a lot in today's game)... and then the complete ignorance in not knowing how often he posts up. It is what it is. It's amusing and a little frustrating is all.

It was a revenge game for deng. The lakers benched him for 2 seasons and even banned him from courtside last season in favor of playing the young guys. Despite all reports that deng has been an excellent mentor to the baby lakers. It was a case where the lakers regretted signing deng and was hoping deng would just take a lowball buyout offer.

Deng can still play a little and contribute as a situational bench guy.

It was a revenge game, and Wig even mentioned post-game that they were happy for Lu. But that said, has Deng had even one ineffective minute in the three or four games Ryan has inserted him? Ryan is using him brilliantly, and Luol is responding.

So you would have been ok if it had been C.J. Wilson? I think he would have a chance to pitch a nice game In relief and his spin rate on layups might be better than Derrick Rose. Still I'm not sure how he would get mistaken for Jared Terrell... :) To be fair C.J. Williams does sound like a made up name of some random basketball player in a video game.

I wanted the TNT broadcast also. I'm not a fan of Webber and Marv Albert...is getting old. Maybe I was sorta tuning them out or skipped ahead like during FTs and such and missed some of their stuff. It wasn't as horrible as I was expecting. I didn't have any of the in studio stuff...I wouldn't watch it if I did. I did get a kick out of Marv saying every person imaginable that had been a ball boy ever. It was actually kinda interesting. I did think Webber was right down the stretch they needed to keep going to Wiggins and or Towns. The funny part was one point he said it was because it was a young team theybwerent getting it to the right guys. It wasn't really a young team though with like 3 thirty year olds on the floor etc. The point was still fair though. Anyway yes I think they are pretty hard on Towns. Oh well.

Zubac had a nice first half. I don't remember what happened in the 2nd half. Did Walton soft tank by playing someone else? Lol

Monster, I chuckled at the "young team" comment too, and also bristled when Webber said Thibs would be back coaching soon. But mostly I found myself agreeing with a lot that he said. Anyway, it's interesting to get an outside perspective now and then, even if maddening at times.
