Doper - I can't give Thibs credit for keeping KAT and Dario on the floor.

Why? I was willing to bet that Thibs was going to come back with Taj again in the 4th. I was shocked when it didn't happen. Subtle coaching decision but a clear decision nonetheless.

Agreed AND Tyus finished the game too. There is plenty to absolutely rip Thibs about (Like not taking guys out at the end of the game) why not focus on that rather than not give him credit for doing something correct? Then people wonder why some here "defend" Thibs. On Saric I wasn't as surprised he didn't come out because Thibs has kept him out later in the game when he was playing well before.

Why? Because keeping Saric on the floor with KAT was a no-brainer and so was keeping Tyus on the floor given how well that unit was playing. I just can't give Thibodeau credit for occasionally making the obviously correct decision, especially in the broader context of leaving his key starters on the floor with a 15-point lead and 3 minutes to go, not running the offense through KAT in the first half, leaving Wiggins on the floor for 28 minutes and having Wiggins take that last shot of the 1st half. Context matters.

I will give Thibodeau the PBO credit for drafting Okogie and signing Derrick Rose. And I'll give him credit as head coach for KAT's defensive improvement this season because I suspect Thibodeau has been on him appropriately in practice to improve that phase of KAT's game. But I won't give Thibodeau credit for the equivalent of showing up to work on time and correctly adding up the numbers on the balance sheet, while simultaneously taking totally needless and inexplicable risks with key members of the company's workforce.

Here's an interesting stat from last night's game:

Covington and Wiggins had the lowest combined field goal percentage in a game (minimum 25 attempts) for two starters since 1970-71, the first season when starters were tracked.

Lol. Wow, what a dubious distinction. But we still won the game, thanks in large part to Covington's defense and rebounding. Glad we played the Bulls last night. Most other teams would have probably beaten us with that combined performance from our two wings. But we still won. I remember losing at home to the hapless Hawks last season and that was WITH Butler. So I'm not going to dismiss last night's win. I'm going to embrace it as a good sign going forward. We won a game we absolutely should have won and did so in spite of an improbably poor shooting performance from both our starting wings in the same game. I'd say the glass is half full, not half empty.

That is unbelievable! I was wondering last night if a team had ever won by 15 or more on a night where 2 starters shot so poorly, but your stat trumps my question...I'm guessing that team in 1970 likely lost the game. Instead, we not only won, but won by a greater margin than any other Western team over the Bulls this season (other than the world champions). As Cov said after the game (paraphrasing): that's why you call it a team!

Great quote from Covington. That guy adds so much to the team just with his attitude. Then you add his energy, rebounding and stellar defense.

It's really hard for me to get my head wrapped around being 1-30. That is incredible.

Here is something else a little less incredible. Wiggins has shot zero free throws in the past three games yet has gotten off 41 shots in that same time frame. This is from a guy that once averaged seven free throws per game. That was three years ago unfortunately.

He's going backwards folks.

Yep. Remember after that Portland game, we thought maybe he was getting it again. Fool me once, fool me 300 times...
