If he played everyday like Mike Piazza he's putting up numbers a step below Mike Piazza best year. The problem is he plays only half the games.
Garver
GP 72 ABs 258 HR 23 OBP .338 OPS .919
Mike piazza best year
GP 152 ABs 626 HR 40 OBP 431 OPS .1040
Double Garver stats and you have Mike piazza in his prime season.
Garver as a catcher playing 152 games...Is unlikely even if you are playing him all over the place especially since he has had some injuries the previous years. Meanwhile its not like Castro is some slouch at the plate. If we were playing some guy that was basically an out when he was in the lineup that would be very different. Could Garver see more time? Sure I'd be up for him getting more but...the question is would he be hitting the way he would if he was seeing X amount more time? The Twins are being pretty strategic about when catchers catch based on matchups etc. We don't know how banged up various guys are. Hopefully Garver and Castro splitting time keeps them relatively healthy. It probably doesn't help that both guys down 2 months at the plate have been the same 2 months. I'd guess at this point the Twins have a solid chance get a comp pick from FA the way Castro is hitting this year. I said at the beginning of the year I thought this C position had a chance to be a surprising strength like it was 2 years ago. I undersold it. lol
This isn't a Castro thing. This is the need to find more ABs for Garver. Adrianza has played 19 games at first base this year. There's no reason why Garver couldn't have played those 19 games and Adrianza give a guy like polanco or Sano a day off.
The stupidest thing the twins do is play Sano at third and Adrianza at first. When Adrianza is superior defender at SS and 3rd in every metric over Sano but he's just alright at first base.
You laid that out well Adrianza playing at 1b has seemed odd. There have been lulls in the offense but lots of guys have been good options at the plate this year.
Nelson Cruz now hitting .311 and is 5th overall in OPS. That's been a pretty good signing.
They said during the game Kepler has 36 RBI in 142 ABs against lefties. That does sound pretty good.
Remember when Eduardo Escobar supposedly would never hit? It's a new era but still so far this season he has 25 doubles 10 triples (leads MLB) 33 HRs and 110 RBI.
Having all these September callups is fun. Hopefully Garver is ok after taking a ball of the mask.

I've never been more wrong on a player analyzing him than Max Kepler. Hopefully this is just the begging and there's even another level for him.
You know me I love trade lineage. The AJ Pierzynski trade lives on till this day. The Twins trade AJ for Liriano and then trade Liriano for Escobar and then trade Escobar for Duran. A trade the twins made in 2003 is still effecting them today. Pretty neat stuff if you ask me.
If you could get Thor for Eddie Rosario and a prospect would you do it? I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm okay with rolling Cave out in Left field next year.

Yes I would.
Who is the other prospect?
Let's say a fringe top 10 prospect like Blayne Enlow.
Remember the Twins farm system top 12-15 would be in most organization top 10
I would put Enlow between 6-8 in the Mets organization.

I don't think that's going to be enough to get Thor from the Mets. Enlow and Rosario for Thor? Sure I would do that and I'd throw in a couple lower prospects too if that was needed. Let's be honest that sounds to good to be true.
