2018 Summer league Thread

Post by Monster »

This should be a pretty fun summer league with 2 draft picks and at least one 2-way player. I wonder if Amile will play also. This could be a pretty good squad.

Yes, Monster, this should be a fun one. Nice to finally have two talented rookies on our Summery League team. I hope Amile plays as well.

By the way, I'm going to Vegas this summer. I'll be at the first two games, Friday and Sunday nights. I'll be sure to provide a full report when I return.

Looks like the wolves are looking to add some volume shooters.

11 fga per game and half were 3's at a .400 clip.

Egor Koulechov
Height: 6-5
Weight: 208
College: Florida
Classification: Senior
Birthdate: 11/5/1994
2018 Top 100 Rank: 87

Projected Draft Range: 2nd Round to Undrafted

Pros:

Solid shooter, especially from deep

Can post up smaller guards

Fairly good scorer off the dribble

Terrific free throw shooter

Good playmaker

Very good rebounder

Better than advertised athlete

Cons:

Lacks an elite first step off the dribble

Not an elite ball handler

Does not collect enough steals or blocks

May struggle to guard quicker players

Not an elite athlete

Summary:

Egor Koulechov is a skilled swingman that can really shoot the basketball. After playing his previous two seasons at Rice, he transferred up to Florida. He had a terrific performance in a win over Stanford, as he scored 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting, and he made all 5 of his three-pointers.

Currently, he may not have much buzz, but people may tune in later on to see if he can continue to play well in conference play. If he can play well against tough teams consistently, he could end up being one of the true sleepers of this draft, as he may potentially be a good find for an NBA team.

I'm envious, Lip...I had a terrific time at SL 3 summers ago. You've probably already booked your hotel, but Hard Rock is a great option...just a quick walk to the 2 arenas.

Have fun, and send reports!

I'm jealous also. I'm making this pilgrimage a bucket list item.

Yeah the video I watched looks good. He looks tough and has no problem just jacking up a 3 from wherever. Often I'm a bit more intruiged by some of these international college players for some reason probably because I think they probably had some pro type experience.

Ok, fess up...who told Thibs that shots beyond the arc get a 50% bonus????/

Summer league roster 3-point %:

Barford: 43%
Brown: 40.2
Nelson: 35.3
Koulekev: 39.5
KBD: 36
Okogie: 38
Stark 39.9
Tyell 41.4

Some pretty good numbers there.
