Lavine agrees to 4 year $78 Million Deal with Sac

Post by KG4Ever »

WTF did we pay $150 Million to Wiggins for? Thibs is a disaster!!!

Probably at least half this board would take Lavine over Wiggins and we are on the hook for nearly double what Sac/Chi will be on the hook for.

What also was incredibly stupid was signing him early when we gave him max deal.

20 million a year for Zach is bad. You can prefer Zach for his shooting all you want. He's not better than Wiggins.

Lavine's health for sure knocked down his price and is a legit concern about him going forward. He might be fine, but its a concern.

Could the Wolves have saved themselves some money on Wiggins by waiting till this year? Sure its very possible I would say likely but I think locking in Wiggins last year is also pretty defensible. It only takes one team to offer up a big deal.

And we could always match if we wanted. Bulls organization is smarter than ours.

Actually its $19.5 Million average per year and its a lot better than $30 Million average per year for Wiggins, and we have to pay him one year longer.

It's just not. Zach is coming off a significant knee injury and really bad statistical year as a main guy on a bad team. Wiggins is an absolute iron man who was the third option on a playoff team. Zach can shoot the ball and that's pretty much all he has going for him and even that was really bad last year, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. He's one of the most overrated players on this board. Wiggins deal isn't great, but at least it's not 20 million for Jamal Crawford. Just ask the Knicks how that worked out for them.

Better player making half the money. That stings.

Neither contract is worth defending yet. Both players have abilities the other one lacks at this point . Staying healthy and being a 20 pt/game scorer is a valuable commodity despite the warts.
Lavine has shown flashes to be more than that with loads of confidence but your only as good as your ability to stay on the court.
I'd call it a wash at this time only becuz Wiggins should be afforded one more year to prove us wrong .
