Great. So now when we look for players, we need to find ones that are a good fit, affordable, AND can handle the barking ogre?

Bring back Kurt Rambis he never yelled... or laughed... or really moved that much at all.

It's odd, but I think the Wolves are almost in an advantageous spot against other MLE offering teams because their 2019 cap is already so screwed. A lot of insiders paint the picture that teams this off-season will be offering middling players one year deals to preserve potential space next offseason. The Wolves don't really have that concern except to manage the luxury tax line. Some vet could prefer the Wolves 2-4 year security over another team's one year deal.

Then avoiding luxury tax next year maybe Taj goes ring chasing, Teague's expiring could be traded, and/or Dieng's sweetener could be easier to swallow with only two years left.

Actually...Jon K and Jim Souhan have mentioned on their podcast multiple times that Rambis said and yelled some pretty nasty stuff on the sidelines.

That's right. That's back when I had good sources in the organization. Among other things, Rambis repeatedly called Love a pussy. It's part of what poisoned the atmosphere for Love. Rambis was snide and nasty with players. Players didn't like or respect him. And he was a terrible coach. To his credit, Thibodeau isn't underhanded or nasty. He's doesn't attack players personally and he's honest. What you see is what you get with him. And while I don't think he's an elite head coach or the right coach for this team, I don't think he's a bad coach.

If you want to read up on the Wolves offseason with possible options mechanations and what is available around the league this article does a very nice job imo.

https://zonecoverage.com/2018/timberwolves/rose-wiggins-mid-level-exception-three-big-timberwolves-questions/

One of the themes that keeps coming up in various articles and tweets is just how little money there is around the league. Full mid-level deals may even be hard to come by. There will be other teams like the Wolves that have it but are hesitant to use all of it to go into the luxury tax.

Well, I guess the good news is that we might be able to pick up a solid bench wing without having to spend too much.

The Rose signing....Just yuck, but Thibs stubbornly clings to his boys.

I said it last year for the Cavs and I say it for the Wolves but Rose for the vet min is a worthwhile gamble. I still think If the duct tape on his body hold he can still play.

If this team is going to be hesitant to go into the luxury tax, we should abandon the hope of ever contending for anything. There's not a huge difference between going over the cap and going over the lux. This team has already shot itself in the groin with the signings they've made.

I may have said it earlier, but 4 T'Wolves have ever played 7 or more years with the team (West, KG, Mitchell, Szczerbiak). Dieng and Wiggins will join them but only because nobody else will want them.

C Towns /Dieng /Nogueira /Patton
PF Gibson /Bates-Diop
SF Butler /Hezonja
SG Wiggins /Rose /Okogie
PG Teague /Jones /Mack

Terrell on two-way

11 guys, maybe 3 more signings

What I want: sign Hezonja (or Joe Harris) to back up Butler, sign Lucas Nogueira to a minimum deal, maybe Shelvin Mack (or Mario Chalmers) as a minimum third guard

My doomsday scenario is that Thibs gives Rose more money than he should and does something incredibly stupid like bring back Corey Brewer.
