If Kawhi is really telling other teams he'll leave in a year for the Lakers, that should lower the offers the Spurs will get. Maybe Wiggins would be enough in that context? I'd do it for the chance to convince Kawhi to stay and to offload Wiggins' contract. I'm sure the Spurs wouldn't do that deal though.

I don't want anything to do with Kawhi. He seems like he is a bitch to me. The value in trading Wiggins for him would be to dump a contract. I would want to include Dieng too.

Leonard finally met with Pop yesterday. That's something.

But I get it. After playing in 9 of 82 games last season it might be time for Kawhi to think about a new career.
Here's the thing though... and it's pretty sad... there's a very real possibility that Kawhi Leonard will become MUCH MORE popular via all this TMZ-esque gossip over the next couple of months than he has in 7 years as a super good NBA player and champion.
Do you need a good personality? Heck, does Kim Kardashian have a personality at all? Or, is her "personality" created along the way as everybody is talking about her?
I'm sorry, Abe. I know Kim Kardashian. Kim Kardashian is a friend of mine. Kawhi Leonard is no Kim Kardashian! :)

Re: Kawhi wants out of SA
Seriously, if these Lakers rumors are keeping the offers for Kawhi low, we might as well offer Wiggins and a future first for Kawhi and see if they bite. That would be a great deal for us.
The big fear would be him leaving, obviously. But add him to Butler and Towns along with the vets we have--Taj and Teague, solid guys like Tyus, plus the good role players who would want to take team-friendly contracts to have a shot at winning, and I bet we'd stand a pretty decent chance of re-signing him next offseason. And if he left for L.A., I honestly still think we'd be better off without having so much money tied up in Wiggins. It's a win-win if it went through, IMO.

I honestly want nothing to do with Kawhi Leonard. Great player when healthy, yet he's not always healthy, he has a rising ego, demanded a trade AND specific location, then said if he was dealt anywhere else he'd just leave in free agency, and the Spurs don't want to deal him to a Western Conference team. Fuck all of that.
