I was talking to Jeff Adrien the other day. He wouldn't mind sitting on the bench all season since he really wants to focus on his pickleball game. So there's at least one right there that might be interested.

That is funny. I think Thibs has an agreement with his guys that includes them getting over paid and he gets a % of that.

For whatever it's worth Doogie says the Wolves brought in 50+ players the last four weeks and that they probably rank near the top of the league. The Wolves do not announce their workouts so Doogie and others have had to dig for names. He did say Khyri Thomas did NOT come into town, but obviously that does not preclude the Wolves from drafting him.

Wow....Certainly you can't deny Thibs' work ethic. The dude is a machine.....but that may be part of the problem too.

Update from my friend's source. The Wolves will get a current roster player in return for #20 and Gorgui. His source refused to tell him any more. He said Wolves fans should just view this for what it is -- a salary dump by Thibodeau.

If the returning player can contribute AND it frees up some cash THIS year to throw at a FA, I would say that is more than just a salary dump. Anxiously waiting...

It wouldn't free up more money to pay more for free agents. No matter what, we'll be over the cap and limited to the salary cap exceptions with or without Gorgui. More accurately, it might allow the Wolves to pay more money to re-sign Belly and/or Rose without paying the luxury tax. So essentially, it's nothing more than a financial move to spare Glen Taylor's pocketbook. That's why it's hard to look at this as a positive for the Wolves. It's even worse when you consider the fact that Thibodeau created the the financial situation the deal is intended to address. But we'll see. Maybe this source is wrong. Perhaps he has bad information. I'm still holding out hope that the Wolves take an exciting young player at #20. Gibson's contract expires at the end of this season. We can waive Aldrich and save another $5 million this season. If necessary, we can deal Teague next summer. We could probably deal him without having to give up a 1st round pick in the process.

I think I would rather see the Wolves draft a player we can watch grow, too.

While you are correct about the Wolves not moving under the cap, the flexibility is very real because the full MLE would be at their disposal without having to rescind their rights to Belly (and others). Without the additional space, I am not sure the Wolves could hold the rights to Belly AND still have access to the full MLE (I did not double check my math!).

If that Gorgui deal happens, I hope there is an early second rounder coming to Minnesota.

My guess is Gorgui and 20 to Atlanta for Kent Bazemore and 34. More expensive but a year less. Or maybe Dewayne Dedmon.
