I think this means it is critical to do something positive with the Aldrich contract via trade. Need to find a team desperate to shed salary. Maybe a deal like Aldrich for E'twuan Moore? Clarkson? PJ Tucker? Aminu? There are some guys out there to be had. We need to be smart here.
If we dump a first to unload Dieng's contract, we should have a better plan for what to do with the cap space than Rose and Belly.
Theoretically, Belly should be a good fit for us as a stretch 4 who can help our passing, but for some reason it just doesn't seem to have worked out all that well.
Getting a switchable 3 and D guy would make so much more sense. Ariza's a little old, and there's probably somebody better out there I'm not thinking of, but we need somebody like that, actual switchable 3 and D guys so we can start competing with the league as it exists today and not in 2006.
The cap situation is going to be hell this year for players. I bet there will be some good deals for teams to be had. I like Dieng more than most, but if we can turn Dieng's bad contract into a good contract on a switchable 3 and D wing, that would be well worth the cost of the #20 pick.

There is no cap space to be had. If Lip's pal is right Rose is signing for the minimum so he wouldn't affect their situation. Dumping Dieng will allow Minnesota to dip into exceptions for other fas, possibly re-sign Belly, and sign Rose to the minimum without hitting the luxury tax. If the Wolves come out of this offseason offloading Dieng and comeback with Belly + middling wing fa that will be more than I expected.
I assumed Dieng couldn't be moved and his contract would lead to Belly leaving.
