Im good with that starting unit for the next decade. :)
Kevin knox is a must if we are trading butler to the knicks. Knox and lee+ a pick. I will considering swapping noah and dieng.( noah, 2 years left vs dieng 3 years at almost similar money).
What do you think about Hardaway JR instead of Lee. I dont believe the source just spit firing.
I was thinking lee but typed hardaway instead, mental mistake on my part. I edited it already. Being honest though, im not really a fan of either lee or hardaway but 1 of them will be included fir sure to match salaries. I would hope to move whoever we get to another team asap as we will be retooling and minutes should be given to knox, josh and kbd with rose for sure getting some run.
This is simple. The Knicks don't trace the assets (they won't be trading Porzingis) to acquire Butler away from the Wolves.
Wolfson has reported the Wolves have called about Courtney Lee. I'm sure that didn't go anywhere either just because they likely don't have any interest in taking back Diemg's Salary.
It would never happen, but I'd be happy to take Hayward back in a Butler deal to Boston this summer if things don't work out. Hayward is arguably a better basketball fit here with his shooting and pushes Wiggins back to the 2. He's locked in long term already so his deal won't get a jump from the cap increase next year like Jimmy's will. I think Jimmy is a better player, but not by a huge margin. Would Thibs trade his favorite player in Jimmy and vice versa Stevens and Hayward lol?
I'd be one happy camper if we could somehow turn Butler's salary and risk into Kevin Knox. It wouldn't take a whole lot more for me to sign off on that deal. Knox is the real deal.

I think it could happen, Kahns, but not if Thibodeau is still calling the shots. I think Stevens would do the deal.

Cool what GMs do you think will look foolish for passing on Knox?

Monster, I'm not sure of all the GM's who will look foolish, but I think the Knicks come off looking very smart. I bet there were GM's thinking they were going to get him, or were angling to move up to get him.

This certainly was an interesting draft. I thought Knox was one of the guys that made this a good year to have a top 10 pick. Speaking of teams in that range what do you think about Collin Sexton for the Cavs? I've been curious what some posters think about that pick for a while but I never brought it up before. I have someone I work with that is a Cavs fan and much of his family is from Cleveland. That rebuild is gonna be kinda fascinating.

I agree, Cool. And I liked the way you phrased it, not as GMs looking foolish, but rather the Knicks' GM looking really smart. It's the way I'd characterize the Lakers' Kuzma and Hart picks last summer. In my view, those picks don't make other GMs look foolish. Instead they illustrate the good scouting and judgment of the Lakers' organization. It's a subtle point, but an important one. If our standard for the Wolves front office is basic competence or to not be foolish, then I think they've met that standard. But if we hold them to a standard of excellence, which would seem appropriate if we have any championship aspirations, then I think it's clear Thibodeau's front office has fallen short. Thibodeau and Layden haven't looked foolish, but they haven't come off as particularly smart.

The funny thing about the Lakers is how impressive they have been with their non-lottery picks. Their top picks so far...haven't been as effective. I'm not saying they blew their picks but none of them have turned out to be anything of real substance...yet. There is plenty of time for those guys to develop but Randle is already gone and moving Russell looks pretty smart now even though he could still be a nice player if he can ever get healthy. His career so far gives me a bit of a Billups vibe (injuries and relatively inefficient play).
