Indeed we do. It's reliant on free throw attempts and offensive rebounding. I personally don't think those hold up as well in the playoffs, where the officials let a bunch of stuff go. It would be nice if we had a team that could actually make their initial shot attempts more often!

The other thing is that our lack of 3's, propensity to have multiple guys in the paint, and our crashing the O-glass makes us vulnerable to fast breaks going the other way. This is where having better 3-point shooting may help as much on defense as offense!

I do agree with you, Q. But I really do think the maturation of Wiggins and Towns looking to create 3-point attempts for other players will not only help increase our attempts, but our accuracy as well.

I have to say, I was not expecting to come away from the draft with such a positive outlook like I currently have. It's actually quite refreshing, and almost rejuvenating, given the dour outlook everyone has had leading up to the draft!

When you play the Rockets or Warriors and you're trading 2's for 3's, it really doesn't matter if you have a top 10 offense. You're going to lose in that scenario nearly every time.

Really underwhelming college career. Didn't shoot well from behind the arc until his 4th season. And has never shot well inside the arc. Doesn't have very good length and doesn't seem to be a particularly good athlete. There have to be better candidates one of our two 2-way contracts. At least Thibodeau did well with Okogie and Diop.

Doesn't have very good length and doesn't seem to be a particularly good athlete. There have to be better candidates one of our two 2-way contracts. At least Thibodeau did well with Okogie and Diop.

What I found...

First of all he is the guy that hit that deep 3 from the logo in the tourney against Oklahoma and then looked over at Reggie miller. I think most people heard about that. I am pretty sure I was watching it or heard it on the radio.

There is very little video of this guy. He is a thick player (at first reminded me of Khyri Thomas) looks powerful and has some explosiveness but more power. This guy is just as undersized BUT he also may actually have the ability to play as a PG or at least be the sort of guy that plays that role. Looks like a guy that will compete. When you look at his measurables and think he could be a role playing PG they start to looks very good.

He did well at the Portsmouth invitational. Barford that is on the SL was MVP. Wolfson also reported he was a guy that came in for at least one workout with the Wolves. He was part of a group that had his program nationally ranked and his coach Dan Hurley got a better job. At one time he was a top 100 recruit.

Let's be honest there are a ton of undrafted guys at some point that are possible NBA players either inna few months or years down the road. Maybe even more this year as it was a really deep draft. I'm certainly not suggesting Thibs and Layden made some sort of amazing move here by selecting this guy and signing him to a 2-way deal but I also think they must have liked him to move this quickly. It's worth noting some guys may wait because they think they can make a roster or do the 10-day thing or even just take a very good offer overseas. IF this guy actually has talent (espcially if the 3 point shooting is now real) there is a spot on this roster for competitive above average physically gifted (size strength athleticism) guy that will play his butt off. Maybe there was more talented guys out there but there is no guarantee they were going to sign. I'm a homer but I thought the Wolves did a pretty good job bringing in some guys to the Iowa Wolves last year (and their summer league roster) so I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt for right now. These are really shots in the dark. You know they did their homework though.

Thanks for posting the review, Monster. I watched all the videos of him I could find. You're right; there aren't many. He's definitely thick and strong. Not a bad athlete and fairly quick. His size and build reminds me a bit of Derrick Fisher. Anyway, you're right that Thibodeau must have really liked him to sign him so quickly.

What's the status of Anthony Brown? It bugs me that our two-way guys, Brown and Jefferson, never got any meaningful playing time. I agree that the Wolves front office had some nice finds in Brown and Jefferson, but it's wasted if they don't get a chance to show what they can do at the NBA level.

A couple things.

You compared Terrell to Derrick Fisher. You must mean Fisher when he was older. I remember watching Fisher in college and he was pretty quick. I guess when Terrell was a top recruit there was talk about him being the next Dion Waiters. I think the type of player Fisher was does fit though Mario Chalmers also.

Another thing so forgot to add UNI had the 33rd most efficient defense in the nation and most of the guys they played where basically guards. He likely played all over the place defensively. One person said he played some minutes at PF in that small lineup. It sounds like they switched a lot.

Obviously most of the articles you read on guys like this are homer type things where they say good stuff about guys but it seems like he is a highly regarded guy.

On Anthony Brown...I like him but I'm also not particularly worried about him either (like if he would get another offer and leave the organization). At this point it's kinda like he is one of those AAAA guys. Sometimes guys like that leave and it's somewhat regrettable but sometimes you can't keep everyone. I also wish he would have gotten an opportunity also but right now we have plenty of young wings. He may have the best looking jumper of all of them though so...they can make him a qualifying offer as well to keep him even as a 2 way player. They played him a ton down there in the G-league and he performed pretty well. We will see.

I'm personally more intruiged with MGH than Brown and I think unless he really doesn't see an opportunity here and gets an offer somewhere else he will be back. For both MGH and Amile if they give them qualifying offers they will be RFA. It was reported the Wolves really liked MGH last year so I would think they would want to bring him back. He and Jimmy seemed to have a connection and MGH said last summer Jimmy's development under Thins in Chicago was a factor in why he came here. You can never have enough wings in this league. MGH is kinda built like a shorter PJ Tucker.

With Aldrich likely leaving and Patton's health and then readiness to play in question the Wolves can use a big so I could see them wanting to keep Amile also (plus they didnthat favor of signing him at the end of the year) and he fits the modern NBA better than a true center. I doubt with the season he had in the G-league he would be willing to accept a 2 way deal.

My take always:

They had opportunities to move down from #20 and Layden said they were good opportunities. He said they really likedJosh and weren't sure he or any of the other players would be there. Personally looking back at guys that got picked and where they were picked unless the deals were something really good I don't think I would have wanted to give up the chance Ali would miss on being able to select Okogie either. They clearly like him a lot.

Thibs said that KBD was someone they had in the conversation at #20 for a long while (I assume through their whole process) so he felt fortunate to get him there. Layden said they had opportunities at #48 to trade back or have future assets but they liked staying at #48 which seems obvious but it was interesting to here that.

Thibs seemed quite relaxed...for Thibs anyway. Lol Layden made a joke about being happy about seeing the reporters 2 days in a row and Thibs laughed with a big smile. I remember how Flip looked so different and upbeat after some of his later drafts and Thibs just seemed a little more chill and to me seemed like more relaxed but in control. Still for the most part he and Layden said the same stuff you would expect. The pre draft press conference Jon K had some lines with his questions that got Thibs smiling and laughing too but this seemed just a little different than that.

You realize, monster, that qualifying offers to MGH, Brown and Jefferson, signing our two draft picks, and bringing back both Rose and Belly represents all 15 roster spots.

While not my favorite, I don't have a problem with that scenario, but I suspect it will not sit well with many people...
