His defensive intensity / awareness is so much better.

The culture Kenny Atkinson and Sean Marks are building is healthy and conducive for success down the road.

100% agreed. I love practically all the moves they've made as an organization, from buying low on big time talents (D'Angelo Russell, Jahlil Okafor) to using their cap space to acquire assets (DeMarre Carroll AND a first-round pick) and their ability to find and develop hidden gems (Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris).

Agree, good start to their rebuild for sure. From the front office, the coach, and the style they play, it's conducive to winning.

This game was won on the boards. I don't see it mentioned here but I think that's one of the biggest keys to winning. I noticed during many of the losses they lose the board battle. What is the record when the Wolves lose the rebounding battle? I bet it's under .500.

Yeah and another guy basically nobody wanted or anyone could have signed. Credit him and the Nets for becoming a worthwhile player. He would be a good guy to target with a decent offer. Hopefully we can find and develop a player like that ourselves too.

A couple thoughts on this game.

PG missmatches on both teams.

Dinwiddie has Dieng on a switch no way in hell Dieng can guard him. Dinwiddie throws it to okafor who scores but I thought it was stupid.

Teague has Allen on a switch. Towns posts up a small guy. No get the hell out of there and let Teague score. Jim Peterson called it out also.

Teague was not the best in this game and Thibs went with Tyus down the stretch and deservedly so.

Eh that's about it they won a game probably should have put it away more but really it never felt like the outcome was that in danger of being a loss for the Wolves. Butler was energetic but rusty which makes sense.

DVR summary... I fell asleep.

After a long day of basketball, I couldn't make it through a late-night viewing. Or, at least very long through it.

It didn't help that it was Brooklyn... Without several key contributors... on the second night of a road back-to-back. The Wolves can sleepwalk through games like this and win. Just win. All that matters in these games.

The one interesting wrinkle I saw is that Jones and Teague split minutes evenly at PG. And I was still awake to notice Jones came in a lot earlier (4:00) in the 1st quarter to spell Teague. Wasn't there a time when Teague was playing the entire 1st quarter?

Is this a trend or mirage?

Tyus played pretty much the whole 4th quarter of not the whole thing. The previous game Teague played the whole first quarter. I don't think there is a trend here Thibs went with the guy playing better and it's nice to get Tyus some more legit minutes.

Ok I looked it up quick. Tyus came in with 4 mins to go in the 3rd and other than 4 seconds at the end of that quarter MGH played as a defensive replacement and a couple seconds at the end of the 4th Tyus played the rest of the game.

The broadcast team was commenting about Teague strangely passing up open shots. I saw the same thing. It was almost like he was doing it to make some kind of point, a la Kobe several years ago. Whatever was going on, Thibs clearly didn't like it. And make no mistake, Teague was benched.

I think he does that often. The ball gets moved and he has an open shot, usually behind the arc. He doesn't take it and it often leads to a "green" call after he dribbles a bit and eventually passes to somebody else.

Considering he's about an average three point shooter... I'm cool with him taking more of those shots.

This may explain some things: Jon K reported that Teague said his ankle was bothering him and later in the game Thibs actually called him back into the game and Teague slowly got up from the bench and told Thibs he should leave Tyus in because he was playing well and Teague wasn't feeling good.
