Let the Draft Speculation Begin
Let the Draft Speculation Begin
It's been clear to me for some time that, barring a significant upgrade in head coach, this Wolves are not going to make the playoffs. If the season ended today, the Wolves would finish 13th in the West and have the 10th pick in the draft barring some miraculous luck in the lottery. Who should the Wolves target with that 10th pick?

Can we use our pick to draft a coach?
If not, I think it has to be a pg, someone not afraid to shoot the 3 ball and can defend his man a little.
I like our wing rotation of roco, okogie, and wiggs.
I like a starting tandem of saric and kat with kbd potentially giving us some minutes at the 4. Dieng aint good, but we are stuck with him fir the next few years as our back up c.

Next season....
Center - KAT, Dieng
PF - Saric, KBD
Wings - RoCo, Wiggins, Okogie
PG - ???????????
Not sure a rookie PG is going to help us move the needle, but I'm honestly at a loss for options. All the free agents have major flaws or won't come here.

Yeah, I"m not ready to start talking draft yet either. We're only 2 1/2 games out, and we just finished an 0-3 stretch that I'm confident would have been 2-1 if RoCo had been anywhere close to 100%. He was clearly not hmself in the last 2 games, and that has a major impact on our defense. 141 points, my god.

I'm not thrilled with this draft given our needs. It's very wing heavy at the top which we don't need because we already have 3 guys who should get minutes leaving scraps for a rookie. We also really don't have a spot for a young rotation guy if we keep all of Tyus/Okogie/Wiggins/Saric/Towns. We'll see. Hopefully a PG stands out at 10 as a good pick.

Well, the draft is going to happen whether we make the playoffs or not! And our pick probably won't be all that different either since it's either going to be high non-lottery or low lottery...something in the 10 to 16 range, right?

Right. And once again the ridiculous weight of the league is on the West again so I don't see us making any improvement from last season, so I'm secretly hoping for that so thibs gets canned.

If RoCo is that important to this team, then the team has a serious problem. I love Roco, but he shouldn't be that crucial to the team. Look at what Denver has done without Barton for most of the season and without Harris for a number of games.

Why shouldn't be that crucial. He is probably the 2nd best player on our team outside of Kat.
I mean look at when Gobert was out last year, the jazz where shit.
When you take out a 1st team all defensive player your team is going to suffer.
No excuses though if he can play he shouldn't get a pass for playing bad. If the injury is affecting him this much he should rest. But in general I think you are underestimating the importance of RoCo and you are comparing him to a 6th man and the 4th best player on the nuggets
