Correct. I'd add McHale to that list. My pick would be Greer. I don't think Sam would do it and I wouldn't blame him for telling Glen to take a hike if asked.

For whenever we make this move we are just looking for a guy that doesn't suck won't be a jerk and guys will at least have some fun playing for. Greer supposedly runs the defense so that doesn't exactly inspire confidence but he seems to have a more enjoyable presence and might be more open to doing a variety of things across the board. Ed P. Sounds fine with me for guy just to get us through.
If for some reason Ryan Saunders has communicated or communicated to Glen he has no interest in taking this over then Malik Allen would be an interesting younger guy but you can't hire him or John Lucas III unless Ryan doesn't want it because that just wouldn't be right.
I still think bringing McHale back is problematic. I wouldn't hate it but...and I would think he would turn it down. What's Sid Lowe up too? Randy Wittmann? Sorry Rambis isn't available he is a special advisor to the Lakers now. I'm joking about these other guys McHale wouldn't be a joke at least.
Monster - I agree with your take on the type we should consider for interim head coach. And you make a good point about Greer. Reading your post and Crazy's, I'd probably lean heavily towards Ed P, although I'd definitely consider Ryan Saunders. Given the state of this team right now, I think Ed would be the best choice. Like you, I don't think McHale would take it. If he would, I'd still go with him over any of the other choices for interim head coach - not for interim or permanent PBO.

Actually, the time to go after Wright was two summers ago when the Wolves hired Thibodeau. The Wolves' coaching job at the time was the most coveted head coaching job in the League. Glen painted by numbers and hired a dinosaur. He and his executive team showed no imagination, no depth of thought and rushed down a narrow corridor in making a bad decision. I wrote a letter to the Wolves front office executives at the time explaining why I thought hiring Thibodeau to either position was a terrible idea. I re-sent that letter a couple weeks ago as a reminder that all the reasons I gave back then have been validated.
Stackhouse and Udoka are intriguing prospects to replace Thibodeau as head coach. The only one on your list I'd absolutely stay away from is Bayno.

The last I heard about Bayno was he wasn't interested in that type of gig for various reasons.
Monte Williams is a guy that I could see Glen wanting. I don't know if he is the right guy to take this team where it ultimately needs to go but he might not be a bad hire either...if he is willing to get into this mess. He was under consideration to some extent the last time we were looking.
Not Greer or Pinckney. No Thibs guys! Ryan or McHale as interim and next off season open up the process. Ideally, we can get someone relatively young who can relate to young players and help develop them. Honestly, I don't mind taking a step back this year as we need to transition from the mess that Thibs created and reload with a young nucleus. I'd look for an opportunity to trade fossils like Taj and Teague if we can get something of value back. I'd rather Tyus get a chance to start so we can see what we got there.
How about an interim rotation with some old coaches each getting a chance to do one last game? Heck get in some old HOF players to coach a game. Phil Jackson can coach a game via FaceTime from his special chair in Montana. George Karl can get then running and gunning. Hubie can do the broadcast and coach at the same time. So can PJ Carlisamo...heck there are a lot of options for that! Get Kareem for a game. Get Barkley and Shaq to co-coach a game. If we are gonna be a joke let's have some real fun with it.
Getting rid of Thibs has jumped to the top of my wish list. Make a call to David Griffin pronto. Bring in Stackhouse to coach. If Richardson, Waiters & #1 (they should push for unprotected #1) is still on the table for Butler, take it. All before Wednesday. Then tank for RJ Barrett. Am I being unrealistic?

I posted a GM thread and was talking about him in that one also. Do you have any insight on him from when he worked all those years for the Suns?
