All his former coach did was argue every call, all game, all season. KAT learned from one of the best at it. Might take a while to get this out of his game.

Yep, and some other Wolves too. One thing i can say for sure. As painful as last night's three hour game was to watch, Ryan's comparative profesionalism makes things more palatable. He calls refs over to discuss calls with them and lets them know in a mature way when he disagrees, rather then giving up all credibility by pissing and moaning about EVERY call against his team. He collaborates with his assistant coaches and then commands the complete attention of his team during time outs...just like Pop always does. And he's not afraid to reward players publicly for a job well done, and his praise is much less subtle than his criticism (yes, Ryan, I saw you talking with Josh after another forced three). I'm convinced Ryan's more professional coaching style is going to pay off with victories once he gets a healthy team to coach.

My thoughts about Wig last night. I got to my seats late (had to go way TF up to section 205 to get a Crunch birthday beanie for my Little Brother), and Wig already had seven points that I missed when we finally got to our seats. But except for two nice three-pointers and the tragic turnover Lip mentions, , I honestly don't remember even seeing Wig on offense the rest of the game. I don't know if that's an indictment of Ryan, our PGs or Wig himself...probably a combo platter...but it's a huge continuing problem... we simply have to find a way to get him more involved in the offense.

That said, I do know he was in the game, because I saw a lot of good defense from him. Several times during the game I said "nice D, Wig" or "great footwork", and I noticed others praising his defense too. I thought he "brought it" on the boards and defensive side last night.

2. Saric did some good things out there, but he doesnt take shots in rhythm. I don't think he knows when and where his shots are coming from. Coming from a ball moving offense and a pass first pg, this has to be a tough transition. Our unnel vision pgs + our offensive schemes just dont work for anyone else.

2. Wiggs simply isnt involved in the offense for long stretches. You can blame wiggs for not doing more, but unless hes the pg heds going to need some help. Wiggs role is to spread the offense for teague, rose, kat, and even taj. With cov out, we dont have a floor spacer. Okogie isnt being guarded while saric cant hit the broadside of the barn right now.

4. Dieng. He was brutal. I don't even think you could call that play a missed box out, because he never attempted one because he was too busy whining to the refs. Then he compounded the issue by taking b2b long 2's and silly fouls. He erased a 10 pt lead by himself.

5. Teague is our best pg, but after 2 years, he still can't click with anyone on the floor.

You said Dieng erased a 10 point lead by himself. You know how they got the lead? Towns got a foul Dieng came in and the team went on a run WITH Dieng playing well. Doris Burke mentioned a few times him playing good D on LA and he did a corner 3. Then he started fouling like crazy (seemed to be going around) and had that boneheaded play...which was a point where the bad stuff from him continued to snowball. It was an absolutely maddening performance.

Wiggs will defer to teammates and not step on toes if u let him. I think flip figured that out before he passed away. I think it has to be maddening for guys he plays with because they see his talent, but good at the same time because he isn't going to fight them for the ball and stats.

His D on Gay had some good moments including a terrific baseline possession where he beat Gay to his spot when Gay had put a terrific move and ended up being called for an offensive foul.

One other thing about when Wiggins was not being heard from for a while angry Teague was being unleashed and so think it was a good thing for the team. Wiggins needs to do more wanting the ball BUT I do think if utilized correctly both by him his coach (whoever that is) and his teammates his willingness to defer can be useful maybe even an asset. He can't just be standing in the corner watching though he needs to be at least shot ready but I'd like to see him moving a bit although you need to be in a spot that someone expects you to be there when they are driving. Of course maybe it goes to something you have heralded against Thibs...maybe Wiggins was tired. He barely got those FTs to the rim late although he nailed a big shot not much later.

Snowball is an apt description.

Just read that we are 2-10 in the last 12 games that rose has played and 7-2 in the last 9 games he has sat.

Former Wizards video coordinator chimes in on Wiggins.

I love @heydb. But a couple comments. Lot of guys in the NBA stand in the corner on spread PNR plays. Not a lot of "demanding the ball" guys in the league. Coach usually calls a play. Want to get Wig involved? Call a post-up play that he was really good at for a while. Think /1

the analytics got in his head and he's drifted out to being a spacer instead of what he did well (face-up midpost). Also, the 3 man doesn't crash the offensive glass in almost every scheme today. Body language isn't great and I get the general point. But not all on him. /2
