So then Glenn has agreed to go into luxury tax territory. Not surprised they're working on a deal with G, very surprised they are doing the same with Bazz.

I would think how surprised I would be depends on the numbers they are talking with when it comes to Bazz.

Please don't re-sign Bazz. He doesn't fit what we need. We need 3pt shooting and defense on the wing and he provides neither.

Depends on the price and length for Bazz really. We can afford to pay him on a 2 year. Dieng on a 3 year.

I think as cheap as possible is the key with both of these guys. I can see a role for either of them on a good or great team, but as I see it they are both role players, even though Gourgi starts. The big contracts given out this summer are a bit of a misnomer for what is going to happen in reality moving forward. The rumor about the new CBA is that they're going to get serious on Cap holds so the economics of signing your own guys will be key if we want to be serious players in free agency. Better to get these guys in now for as cheap as possible then to let them think too much. The worst mistake could be overpaying either of them. I don't think either of these players warrant losing out on something potentially better in free agency.

I don't arrive at the same conclusion, SP. I agree with you that if they signed both these guys at market rates, and then also signed their big 3, they would be in the lux tax. But we don't know what is going to happen. Signing G and Bazz doesn't mean that they can't be traded later...in fact, it may make it easier if we sign them at market or less. I still don't see Glen as being willing to pay the lux tax.

Dieng extended according to Marc Stein. Good news. Even if it's too much for us to ultimately keep him with all the other guys we'll want, he's definitely a tradeable player. This shouldn't become another Pek situation.

Not sure how I feel about extending bazz.

4 years, 64 for Gorgui. How does that strike you?
