I'm all aboard the Tyrese Haliburton train

I believe he can be our point guard of the future, he is a shining star stuck with a terrible supporting cast. If we don't trade for D'Lo I really hope we draft this guy!

Let's not trade for Dlo and draft this guy. We won't trade KAT until he demands it, and Wigs is not tradeable.

Hope this guy is as good as Ricky.

Regardless of PG (because honestly all of these PG's will have shooting questions they need to answer), this team has to come back with 3 other guys somehow you're comfortable giving a green light to shoot.

I wonder how a Rubio/Wig/Kat trio would do right now. Rubes is second in assists.

Haliburton is known as an excellent play-making guard. But he's an terrific shooter and a great all-around players. As a sophomore this season, he's averaging 15.7 points, 6 rebounds and 6.8 assists along with 2.5 steals per game. Those are elite college numbers. Oh, and his shooting 50% from the field and over 40% from behind the college arc. He is exactly what the Wolves need.

So the question another thread is whether the Wolves should tank this season. The answer should be an obvious YES. We should have tanked last season to maximize our chances for Zion or Ja Morant. We should tank this season to increase our odds of getting Haliburton - or another prospect if there's a better talent and fit for the Wolves than Haliburton.

Other than tanking, another way for the Wolves to enhance their chances of getting Haliburton is to trade up. To that end, the Wolves need assets that other bad lottery teams would be interested in as the price of moving down a few slots in a deal with the Wolves. What do lottery teams want? They want draft picks and very young players with lots of upside. If trading Wiggins can bring in a further 1st round pick or two, then the Wolves should deal him by the deadline. Same for Covington. We need multiple valuable picks who we can combine with a player or two (maybe Culver) in a deal to either trade up for a guy like Haliburton or trade in a deal for a Bradley Beal, Devin Booker or DLO.

I think this team is tanking. If so, for once they seem to at least know what they're doing. I say double down on the tank by trading Wiggins and Covington and focus on maximizing assets for maneuvering on draft day next June. Haliburton would be my primary draft target. Beal, Booker and DLO would be my main free agent targets. But I wouldn't give up too much for DLO.
