He's being paid just shy of 20 mil this season but it reduces about 1.5 mil each season over the next two remaining on his contract. Statistically he's having a down year, and I'm not completely sold on the fit with KAT and Wiggins but he could be available for a reasonable price tag.
Yeah, saw that, too.
In the article... and elsewhere... I've seen people suggest him being put into more of a Blake Griffin or Draymond Green role.
Apparently, he has the chops to dive/finish and pass. But if you ask him to do too much... it's a problem. I hadn't thought of it, but I don't think I'm completely against it.
He brings some of the elements of a Brandon Clarke which I dig, only with a more all-around game.
I've thought for a while now that Brandon Clarke is an ideal fit next to KAT in the front court. I wonder what it would take to acquire him. I would consider offering them our 2020 1st rounder if it falls outside top 10.
Or... just imagine... if the Wolves simply grabbed him in the draft.
Or... even traded down, grabbed another asset... and then grabbed him in the draft.
I mean, it was only a few months ago.
This isn't a "I knew it" boast. By no means have I claimed to be a draft expert. But I think a lot of people talked themselves out of a guy like Clarke based more on size and reach and stuff like that while shortchanging what he actually brings.
And I'd like to see the Wolves hit on these sorta surprise picks with more (any) accuracy compared to what's happened for most of the past 30+ years.
Clarke is one of those guys who's can be really good but won't fit with Towns and in no universe would you choose him over Towns if you had to.
The problem with pairing someone with Towns is that the reason why most pairings won't work is because of Towns.
Why wouldn't he fit with Towns?
A guy who doesn't need the ball but is versatile and works his tail off defensively. Sounds like a fit to me.
